Mukhtar Ahmed Gujar entered the jail on April 13, 2026, facing charges under FIR No. 20/2026, with similar legal provisions against him.

The CISF is closely collaborating with the Jammu and Kashmir Police to locate the escaped individuals. An official stated that the preliminary enquiry will investigate how the prisoners managed to breach the jail’s security, particularly in relation to the high walls surrounding the facility.
