A tragic event unfolded in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, where a pet dog named Sheroo was left alone for three days following the deaths of his owner, 18-year-old Kunal Chandgude, and both of his parents. The family was reportedly involved in a distressing incident that began when Kunal expressed his discontent regarding his father’s refusal to buy him a new iPhone due to financial constraints.

Kunal, feeling desolate, ascended a nearby hill and threatened to end his life. His parents, Murlidhar, aged 48, and Sangita, attempted to persuade him to return home. Their efforts were joined by local police, villagers, and fire brigade personnel, but Kunal’s erratic movement along the hill’s edge posed challenges for the rescuers.

Tragically, at approximately 1 pm, Kunal leapt from the hill. His father attempted to save him but lost his balance and fell as well. Witnessing this, Sangita also jumped after them. All three individuals lost their lives in the incident, leaving behind Sheroo, who remained in their home.

Isolation of the Pet Dog

During the three days following the incident, Sheroo remained confined to the house, seemingly unaware of the tragedy that had unfolded. Although nearby individuals managed to provide him with food and water, his condition shortly began to decline as he waited for his family to return.

Each time Sheroo heard footsteps approaching the door, he would rush to greet them, hopeful that his owner would come back. This emotional wait continued until an unexpected visitor arrived at the family home.

The dog’s ordeal came to an end when Kunal’s grandfather arrived. Upon seeing him, Sheroo immediately rushed to his side, visibly relieved to see a familiar face. The elderly man comforted Sheroo and provided him with food and water, evoking deep emotions in those present as they observed the heartwarming reunion.

Rescue Efforts and Future for Sheroo

Barel Sanchis, a representative from the association, confirmed that Sheroo had finally been rescued after enduring three days of isolation. The association has initiated discussions with officials from the Municipal Corporation concerning Sheroo’s well-being and future.

Currently, Sheroo will be housed at a Municipal Corporation shelter, where he will receive the necessary care. However, as the Pet Lovers Association has stated, it is essential for Sheroo to find a permanent home soon. The association has encouraged compassionate individuals or families to consider adopting him, providing him with a loving environment following the traumatic loss he has experienced.
