Indian Railway
Indian Army Faces Threat from Chinese Red Tip Bullets
The Indian Army is facing a growing threat from Chinese-made red tip bullets, which have raised serious concerns about the safety of soldiers. These bullets, designed with a sharp metal tip, are capable of penetrating standard bulletproof jackets and ballistic helmets, making them highly lethal in combat situations.
In recent encounters in Jammu & Kashmir and Manipur, red tip bullets have been responsible for multiple casualties among Indian security forces. Primarily developed in China, these bullets are used in AK-series rifles, posing a significant challenge in counter-insurgency operations.
Bulletproof Jackets and Ballistic Helmets
To counter this threat, SMPP, an Indian defence manufacturer, has developed advanced bulletproof jackets and ballistic helmets capable of withstanding armour-piercing rounds. The Indian Army’s Para Commandos have already procured these upgraded protective gears, while forces such as the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu & Kashmir Police have also begun acquiring them for enhanced protection.
Lt. Gen. RC Srikant, Chief of Staff of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, acknowledged the serious nature of the threat posed by red tip bullets. He assured that the Army is actively working on equipping soldiers with the best possible protective gear to counter emerging threats. “The recent developments are a grave concern, and we are doing everything necessary to safeguard our personnel,” he stated.
With the growing deployment of these armour-piercing bullets, the Indian defence establishment remains focused on upgrading security measures to ensure the safety of its soldiers on the battlefield.

Delhi Pollution Control Committee New Plan Makes Technology a Priority
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) will soon come up with technology-based solutions to counter pollution, like the launch of an app or software that will analyse real-time pollution and an online inspection module for officers. This will be a digital helpdesk to assist citizens in filing complaints in the most effective and convenient manner. Alongside, there will be arrangements made for drone surveillance to monitor industries and drains. Data from various state recognised laboratories will also help DPCC in its mission to fight pollution in Delhi.
