Surendra Singh Choudhry, known as Bittu Tabahi, has successfully concluded his recent environmental initiative in Gurugram, where his team collected a significant total of 2,435 kg of waste. This cleaning effort was part of a broader campaign across the National Capital Region (NCR) aimed at restoring public spaces. The initiative kicked off in Delhi and transitioned to Gurugram, where Bittu and his crew dedicated their efforts to removing various types of litter, particularly plastic, which poses a threat to local wildlife.

The cleanup took place on Khedki Daula on September 21, following a similar event in Delhi on September 20, during which 585 kg of waste was removed from the banks of the Yamuna River. Videos circulated on social media showcased the team’s determination, featuring Bittu guiding his volunteers as they tackled the polluted area, ultimately revealing a much cleaner environment. The video content underscored the transformation achieved by the team in just a short time frame.

Bittu expressed his appreciation to the individuals who participated in the cleanup, reinforcing the communal aspect of the initiative. With plastic waste being particularly harmful to animals, Bittu indicated that this was a critical element of the mission. He noted that many cows often consume discarded plastic, which can have detrimental health effects.

Culmination of the Three-Day Drive

Bittu Tabahi’s cleanup campaign spans three days and encompasses multiple locations, as the final leg is set to occur at Yuva Shakti Ghat in Noida on September 23. Bittu is expected to commence the clean-up at 6 am and has encouraged community members to join him in this significant effort to improve the local environment. His call to action aims to bring attention to the persistent issue of waste management in urban settings.

Organised under the hashtag #CleanWithBittu, the campaign has successfully mobilised public interest around the theme of environmental conservation, highlighting the role individuals can play in addressing pollution.
