AAP Alleges Large Conspiracy Against Party, Reports 58 Companies Registered at Office Address

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised accusations of a significant conspiracy against it, as stated by Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj claimed that 58 companies have been registered at the national office address of AAP within the last two months, suggesting that these actions are orchestrated deliberately to undermine the party’s credibility.

During an interaction with ANI, Bhardwaj articulated his concerns, alleging that the central government is behind what he described as a systematic effort to create unfounded allegations against the AAP. He remarked that similar tactics have been employed in past electoral scenarios, where false allegations have surfaced ahead of elections, only to dissipate after the electoral process has concluded.

He cited examples from previous elections in Punjab and Delhi, claiming that allegations of funding from abroad and financial irregularities were later discredited in court. Bhardwaj emphasised that such tactics appear to be a pattern aimed at destabilising the AAP during crucial election periods.

Details of the Allegations

Bhardwaj reported that the alleged registrations at the AAP national office included obtaining Goods and Services Tax (GST) numbers. He raised questions regarding how these businesses could secure GST registration using the party’s office address, given the rigorous verification process involving essential documents like PAN and Aadhaar.

Further explaining the GST registration process, Bhardwaj noted that it necessitates document verification, including a rental agreement and payment proof for utilities. He expressed concerns over the integrity of the process, questioning how a government address could be misused in such a manner without oversight.

Additionally, he mentioned that officials are mandated to conduct physical verifications of the businesses. This includes assessing the business owner’s credentials and confirming the legitimacy of the operation using images and billing evidence. Bhardwaj linked these recent developments to broader attempts at misinformation against the AAP in the lead-up to elections.

Aims Behind the Allegations and Government’s Role

AAP claims that the registration of these companies is not isolated but part of a larger strategy to tarnish the party’s reputation ahead of elections, specifically targeting the upcoming 2027 Punjab elections. According to Bhardwaj, there exists a narrative being spun to suggest that the AAP is connected to “shell companies.” He articulated that this came as a revelation concerning an alleged larger conspiracy being orchestrated against the party.

In his remarks, Bhardwaj urged the central government to take necessary actions to investigate the matter transparently. He called for scrutiny into the identities associated with the newly registered businesses. He claimed that complaints have already been lodged with both the GST Commissioner and the Delhi Police Commissioner, urging prompt investigations into these allegations.

In closing, Bhardwaj expressed apprehension regarding the Supreme Court’s involvement, questioning its efficacy in addressing these issues. He indicated that the judiciary’s notices and responses had not yielded impactful results in past cases, leaving room for scepticism about its ability to manage such allegations going forward.
