A 23-year-old man was killed in a brutal incident following a quarrel over Holi celebrations, according to police officials. The victim, identified as Kalu, went missing on the day of Holi in Panipat. His body was later discovered on a railway track, initially prompting authorities to suspect a railway accident. However, a subsequent investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) revealed that Kalu had been murdered as part of a premeditated plan.

Details of the Crime

Police have arrested three individuals from Kalu’s village, Mahmoodpur. The suspects, identified as Sanju, Rahul, and Vishal, allegedly committed the crime in retaliation for a Holi-related altercation and due to an ongoing personal dispute. During their interrogation, the trio confessed to their involvement, with authorities naming Sanju as the mastermind behind the plan.

Motive Behind the Murder

The conflict that sparked the murder originated when Kalu reportedly applied Holi color on Sanju’s female acquaintance. This act enraged Sanju, who decided that Kalu needed to be eliminated. Investigators revealed a prior grievance involving Sanju; he had previously lent his motorcycle to Kalu, who later returned it damaged without offering compensation.

Execution of the Crime

According to police reports, the murder was carefully orchestrated. On the evening of the incident, Sanju summoned Kalu to meet him. The accused held a drinking session with Kalu, during which they consumed minimal alcohol and coerced him into drinking large quantities. This was intended to incapacitate him. Once Kalu was heavily intoxicated, the suspects transported him on a motorcycle to a nearby railway track.

Attempted Murder and Subsequent Actions

On the railway track, Sanju attacked Kalu twice in the neck with a screwdriver, but the victim did not die immediately. In a troubling turn of events, when the initial attack proved unsuccessful, the accused restrained Kalu’s limbs and placed him on the track, leaving him vulnerable. Due to his intoxicated state and injuries, Kalu was unable to defend himself.

Discovery of the Body

Shortly after the suspects left the scene, a train passing through the area struck Kalu, leading to severe mutilation of his body. The investigation was furthered by examining technical evidence and mobile phone location data, which indicated that the suspects were present near the crime scene at the relevant time. Following sustained interrogation, all three suspects confessed to their roles in the murder.

Ongoing Investigation

As of now, authorities have arrested all three suspects involved in the crime. The investigation is still ongoing, as police work to uncover additional details about the incident and solidify their case against the accused parties.
