A disturbing crime involving the sexual assault and murder of a six-year-old girl has shaken Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred late on January 2 in the Sikandrabad area, prompting swift police action and widespread public outrage. Authorities said the child was allegedly assaulted by two men and later killed in an attempt to destroy evidence.

Girl Found Injured, Declared Dead

Police officials stated they received information about a minor girl lying in a critically injured condition. She was immediately rushed to the Sikandrabad Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Initial investigation indicated that the child had been thrown from the rooftop of a building after the assault, allegedly to conceal the identities of the perpetrators.

Father Files Complaint, Names Tenants

Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s father, police registered a case under Sections 70(2) and 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 5(m) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The father told police that his daughter had been playing on the rooftop of their building before she went missing. Her body was later found in a field behind the premises. He suspected two tenants, identified as Raju and Veeru Kashyap, who were residing in the same building.

Search Operation and Encounter

Considering the seriousness of the crime, the Senior Superintendent of Police formed three special teams to track down the accused. Acting on a tip-off, police located the suspects at a site in an under-construction colony linked to a man named Idris. When the Sikandrabad police team attempted to surround the area, the accused allegedly opened fire to escape.

Police retaliated, and during the exchange, both accused sustained gunshot injuries to their legs. They were arrested at the scene and taken to a hospital for medical treatment under police custody.

Confession and Ongoing Probe

According to police officials, the accused allegedly confessed to their involvement during preliminary interrogation. Further investigation is underway to gather forensic evidence and complete legal formalities. Senior officers have assured that the case will be pursued with utmost seriousness and that strict action will be taken under the law.
