New Zealand YouTuber finds pirated ‘Dhurandhar’ being sold openly in Pakistan for Rs 16

A New Zealand-based YouTuber Karl Rock while filming streets of Pakistan, unknowingly started a discussion around piracy and censorship. While Rock was walking through a busy local market in Pakistan, he captured a footage of a computer screen with a poster of the Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar.He even asked the shopkeeper if it was a recently released Indian movie, to which the seller replied yes, it is and is sold at just Rs 16.

This clip has gone viral and has sparked discussion online regarding piracy and double standards. The most surprising fact about the clip is that even though Indian movies are banned in Pakistan, yet Dhurandhar which was recently released is being sold openly in Pakistan. In the blog, Rock is clearly amused by the fact and tells his viewers that Ranveer Singh is a mega star in India and he has Sindhi heritage. The most striking takeaway from the blog was the ease at which the Indian movies are being sold as pirated copies in Pakistani markets.

After the video surfaced, it triggered a lot of reactions and online discussion. Some social media users called this Pakistan’s double standards, while they have banned Indian cinema, they have allowed pirated versions that are floating easily in the market.

Some said, now they know how people from Pakistan are sharing detailed reviews of Dhurandhar, immediately after the release, “Now it makes sense,” they wrote. Some more critical remarks also came up, some argued that selling pirated versions shows the deeper, systemic problem.

One user said, it is troubling to see that even in this 2026, pirated copies are sold illegally and moreover openly, which is making it easy for people to enjoy the movie, without even paying the compensation. Many comments flooded the internet, triggering a heated discussion.
