Central Railway, Mumbai Division, has announced a mega block on its suburban sections on 11th January 2026 to carry out essential engineering and maintenance works. On the Main Line, both UP and DOWN slow lines between CSMT Mumbai and Vidyavihar will be affected from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm.

During this period, DOWN slow trains departing CSMT between 10:48 am and 3:45 pm will be diverted to the DOWN fast line, halting at key stations including Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla, before returning to the slow line at Vidyavihar. Similarly, UP slow services departing Ghatkopar from 10:19 am to 3:52 pm will be rerouted on the UP fast line, stopping at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla stations.

Suspension on Trans-Harbour Line

On the Trans-Harbour Line, services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will be suspended from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. Both UP and DOWN trains will not operate on this section during the block.

Additionally, DOWN line services from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel between 10:35 am and 4:07 pm, and UP line services from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi to Thane between 10:25 am and 4:09 pm, will be cancelled. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

Purpose of the Mega Block

The maintenance mega block has been scheduled to ensure the upkeep and safety of railway infrastructure. Central Railway officials have urged commuters to exercise patience and cooperate with the authorities while these works are underway, emphasizing that these measures are vital to prevent future disruptions and maintain the efficiency of suburban operations.
