Man Assaults Four-Year-Old Boy in Maharashtra Over Personal Dispute

The CSR Journal Magazine

A distressing incident occurred in Palghar district, Maharashtra, where a man assaulted a four-year-old child following a personal conflict on Monday evening. The event was documented by surveillance cameras installed in the local vicinity, revealing the accused forcibly removing the child from a parked autorickshaw and violently slamming him onto the ground, resulting in critical injuries.

Details of the Assault

At approximately 7:30 PM, the child was playing and momentarily sat inside an autorickshaw owned by Sandeep Pawar, a local rickshaw driver residing in the same society. Upon returning, Pawar chased away other children playing nearby and subsequently attacked the four-year-old. The footage shows him striking the boy’s head against a metal part of the autorickshaw, then pulling the child’s legs, throwing him headfirst onto the ground, and subsequently dragging him towards the staircase of the building while continuing the assault.

Grandmother’s Attempt to Intervene

During the attack, the child’s grandmother attempted to intervene but fell victim to Pawar’s aggression as well. The shocking nature of the incident has raised concerns within the community, as it was fully recorded on the society’s CCTV system, providing clear evidence of the assault.

Medical Condition of the Victim

Following the attack, the injured child was immediately transported to Wockhardt Hospital, where he is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit. Medical professionals report that the child’s condition is critical, with updates on his health closely monitored by his family and the authorities.

Legal Actions Against the Accused

In the aftermath of the assault, the Vasai Police took decisive action by registering a case against Sandeep Pawar. He faces multiple charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Pawar has been taken into custody while the investigation continues.

Background of the Conflict

Authorities noted that a minor disagreement had occurred a few days prior between Atul Kondhare, a resident of the same society, and Sandeep Pawar, who has also allegedly exhibited aggressive behavior in the past. Reports suggest that the attack on the child was carried out as an act of vengeance linked to this earlier dispute.

Accused Shows No Remorse

Despite the grave nature of his actions, reports indicate that Pawar has not expressed remorse for his conduct. Eyewitnesses claim he acknowledged his behavior as an act of retaliation, expressing a rationale for his actions when confronted by other members of the society. This chilling aspect of the case has sparked further discussions about safety and accountability within the community.
