Kanpur Man Beats 80-Year-Old Mother to Death After She Refused to Give ₹40 for Liquor

A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Kasigawan village in Kanpur district. Here a 35-year-old man allegedly beat his 80-year-old mother to death. This comes after she refused to give him ₹40 to buy alcohol. The accused, Rajaram, who reportedly struggles with alcohol addiction. He has now been arrested by the local police.

Argument Turns Fatal

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Panki), Shikhar, the incident occurred after an argument broke out between Rajaram and his mother, Rajeshwari, over money. When she refused to give him ₹40 for liquor, Rajeshwari reportedly locked herself inside a room to avoid further confrontation.

However, Rajaram, in a fit of rage, broke the door open using bricks. He then dragged his mother out and allegedly hit her on the head with a block, causing her to die on the spot.

Locals Intervene Too Late

Neighbors initially heard the commotion but dismissed it as a routine family argument. It was only when Rajaram attempted to flee the scene that locals intervened. A neighbor raised an alarm, and the community managed to catch him before he could escape. The police were immediately informed, and Rajaram was handed over to the authorities.

Kushalpal Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sen Paschimpara Police Station, confirmed that Rajaram is addicted to alcohol and acted out violently after being denied money.

Longtime Co-Habitation Ends in Tragedy

Rajeshwari had been living with her son Rajaram for nearly 15 years, since the death of her husband Tulsiram Yadav. The family reportedly struggled with financial and emotional difficulties, worsened by Rajaram’s addiction.

The police have sent the deceased’s body for a post-mortem examination. Forensic teams have also collected evidence from the scene to aid in the ongoing investigation, which is being treated as a homicide.

Authorities have registered a case and are piecing together the events that led to the brutal killing.
