Haryana Woman Murders Husband with Boyfriend Over Instagram Reels; Tattoo on Body Cracks the Case!

The CSR Journal Magazine

A horrifying case of murder involving a social media influencer has come to light after a decomposed body was found in a drain near Bhivani village. The victim, identified as Praveen, was brutally killed by his wife, Raveena, a YouTuber known for her Instagram reels and short films, and her boyfriend, Suresh. The chilling crime, motivated by an illicit affair and rising social media fame, was cracked open thanks to a tattoo on the victim’s wrist and crucial CCTV footage.

Rising Fame, Marital Strain, and a Deadly Fallout

Raveena grew up in a modest family in Bhivani, Haryana, with her parents and siblings. She completed her schooling and later married Praveen, an auto-rickshaw driver from the same village. The couple had a son and lived a relatively simple life. Post-marriage, Raveena pursued further education and developed a keen interest in making short video content on Instagram and YouTube.

Her popularity soared rapidly due to her charming persona and dancing reels, earning her a growing number of followers beyond her village. Initially, Praveen supported her social media career. However, as Raveena’s fame grew, she began receiving offers for local short films, which involved her staying away from home for days. This change disturbed Praveen, who demanded she quit her acting and reels, a demand she reluctantly agreed to.

The Affair that Led to Murder

During the hiatus from social media, Raveena rekindled her connection with Suresh, a married man from a nearby village, whom she had met on film sets. What started as a friendship soon blossomed into a secret romantic relationship. Raveena increasingly began sneaking out and staying away from home, raising suspicions and tensions with Praveen.

On March 23, 2025, a heated argument between the couple escalated when Praveen reportedly caught Raveena and Suresh in a compromising situation. Fueled by anger and jealousy, Raveena devised a plan to kill her husband. On March 25, when Praveen was alone at home, she called Suresh over. Together, they strangled Praveen with a scarf while he was asleep. When he struggled, Suresh restrained him until he died.

Attempt to Cover Up the Crime

In an attempt to mask the murder as an accident, Raveena and Suresh dumped Praveen’s body in a nearby drain. They assumed decomposition would prevent identification, and since Praveen was known to consume alcohol, any accidental death would be plausible. Following the murder, Raveena returned to her parents’ house, maintaining an innocent facade and feigning grief over her husband’s disappearance.

Family Suspicion and Police Investigation

Praveen’s family grew increasingly suspicious of Raveena’s behavior and the unexplained absence of Praveen. When a foul smell from the drain attracted local attention, police discovered the decomposed body on March 29. Due to the advanced decomposition, identification was difficult until police spotted a tattoo on the victim’s wrist. Sharing the image and description with nearby police stations led to confirmation that the body was indeed Praveen’s.

CCTV Footage Unmasks the Killers

Praveen’s family investigated the area’s CCTV footage, which revealed Raveena and Suresh carrying a covered object near the crime scene on the night of the murder. Confronted by police with the evidence, the couple confessed their crime.

During interrogation, Raveena admitted to the murder, citing her anger after a fight with Praveen and her fear of exposure due to the affair. The police have registered a case, and the investigation continues as the community reels from the tragic story of love, betrayal, and social media obsession turning deadly.
