The CSR Journal Magazine

In a deeply disturbing incident, a 28-year-old man named Naveen died by suicide while on a Facebook video call with his fiancée in Haridwar on Sunday afternoon. The tragic event occurred in the Tibri area, where Naveen was staying at a friend’s room while preparing for competitive examinations.

Naveen, a resident of Tibri, had been in a relationship with a woman named Rushi for several years. The couple was formally engaged about three years ago, and their wedding had been fixed by their families. Known to be focused on his studies, Naveen often visited his friends’ room nearby for a peaceful study environment.

Sudden Act During Video Call

Around 2:30 PM on Sunday, while on a Facebook video call with his fiancée, Naveen shockingly tied a noose using a rope, fixed it to the ceiling fan, and hanged himself. The act unfolded live on camera, and Rushi, stunned and panicked, immediately alerted Naveen’s family.

Family members rushed to the location but found Naveen already dead. The police were informed, and a team from Ranipur Kotwali, led by SSI Manohar Rawat, arrived on the scene. The body was sent for post-mortem, and initial investigations began.

Police Begin Investigation; Cause Still Unclear

SP City Haridwar, Pankaj Gairola, confirmed the incident and stated that police are investigating all possible angles, including emotional stress, relationship issues, or other personal struggles. “No suicide note has been found. We are recording statements from the fiancée, both families, and friends to get clarity on what may have led to this,” he said.

Police are also analyzing phone records, chats, and video call logs to look for any potential signs of distress or conflict leading up to the act.

Family and Locals in Shock

Naveen’s death has left his family and the local community in a state of shock. According to initial reports, there were no visible signs of mental health issues or tension in the relationship. Friends described him as calm and dedicated to his studies.

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and await the findings of the official investigation. Psychological counseling has also been offered to the grieving family.
