Hanuman Garhi Temple Priest Welcomes New CEO of Ram Temple Trust

The CSR Journal Magazine

The recent appointment of retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has been met with enthusiasm by Mahant Raju Das, the priest at Hanuman Garhi temple. Das expressed his belief that Mishra is “fortunate” to have the opportunity to serve at the Ram Temple, a significant religious site in Ayodhya.

In his address, Das highlighted the importance of adhering to Vaishnav worship traditions during services at the temple. He emphasised that such practices are integral to maintaining the sanctity of the worship experience for devotees. Furthermore, he called for the Trust to take responsibility for all gaushalas in Ayodhya, which are establishments for the care of cows.

Das stated, “On behalf of the sadhus, I would like to urge the CEO to ensure that the worship there is as per Vaishnav traditions.” His comments were made public following the Trust’s latest meeting, where the new appointments, including three additional trustees, were confirmed.

Trust’s Meeting and Financial Oversight

The Trust’s meeting in Ayodhya not only focused on the appointment of Mishra but also addressed various administrative matters. This included filling vacant trustee positions, approving the annual accounts for the financial year 2025-26, and reviewing the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

During the discussions, there were additional inquiries into financial activities previously reported. Concerns were raised about past mismanagement, with critics pointing out that there has been little transparency regarding significant financial transactions under previous oversight. Some members have expressed a lack of confidence in the previous governance and are hoping for improved accountability moving forward.

Congress MP Kumari Selja commented on the appointment, saying, “I don’t know about others but the CEO is a (retired) Air Marshal. He was dedicated to protecting the nation. We hope that he will do good work.” Her remarks reflect an expectation that Mishra’s military background will lend credibility and effectiveness to the Trust’s operations.
