In a shocking revelation, Ghaziabad Police have solved the brutal murder of 34-year-old Asif alias Gullu, who was gunned down on the night of October 7 near the Sikrod railway crossing. The murder, initially suspected to be a gang-related attack, turned out to be a well-planned conspiracy by Asif’s pregnant wife Arshi alias Prachi and her lover Rehan, along with their accomplices.

A Love Affair Turned Deadly

According to the police investigation, Asif’s wife, Arshi, who had converted from Hinduism and married Asif in 2022, was in an illicit relationship with Rehan, a local butcher. Their affair reportedly began when Asif was jailed in a drug trafficking case in March 2024. During his incarceration, Arshi and Rehan grew close and began planning a life together. However, Asif’s release in April 2025 disrupted their plans.

When Asif discovered Arshi’s affair and suspected that her pregnancy was the result of her relationship with Rehan, tensions escalated between the couple. Arshi and Rehan first attempted to poison Asif with sleeping pills, but when that failed, they hatched a deadly plan.

Murder Caught on CCTV, Weapons Recovered

On the evening of October 7, Rehan, along with his friends Bilal, Zeeshan, and Uwaish, ambushed Asif near the Sikrod underpass. They shot him multiple times at point-blank range, including once directly in the mouth. The chilling act was captured on CCTV, showing the assailants fleeing the scene after the murder.

Following the incident, police launched an intensive investigation. A case was registered based on a complaint by Asif’s brother, and five accused were arrested: Rehan, Arshi, Bilal, Zeeshan, and Uwaish. Three country-made pistols and live cartridges were recovered. Two other suspects, Gulfaam and Danish, remain at large.

Accused Confess to Crime, Investigation Continues

During interrogation, Rehan and Arshi confessed to plotting Asif’s murder. Police say the motive was to eliminate Asif so the couple could be together. The investigation revealed that all parties involved had previous criminal records, including the deceased.

Assistant Police Commissioner Lippi Nagar said that special teams have been deployed to arrest the remaining accused and assured strict legal action against all involved.
