A 22-year-old student from Gauhati University has been discovered deceased at a homestay located in the Azara area of Guwahati. The accused, Asif Ali, is in police custody and has claimed that the young woman died by suicide. According to Bolin Deori, a senior police officer, Asif Ali asserted that Nimisha Thakuria hanged herself from a ceiling fan within the accommodation. Nimisha Thakuria’s lifeless body was reportedly found at Rudra’s Kitchen homestay in the Garchuk-Dharapur area early on Saturday morning. Following the discovery, she was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
