Every time before the elections, the opposition in Bengal runs various types of propaganda. This causes a lot of confusion among the voters. But it is temporary. Because Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is always by the side of the people of the state, and will always be. She has fought for the people of Bengal before and will continue to do so in the future. Therefore, to the people of the state should not listen to such slander and propaganda. A docu-feature is being made to spread this message.
The docu-feature spanning 25 minutes is titled ‘The Untold Story of Banerjee’. The teaser of the documentary will be launched today at the Kolkata Press Club. The docu-feature, being made under the banner of RK Entertainment, has been produced by Junaid Khan. He has also acted in the film. The concept and script of the film are also made by Khan. Directed by Rahul Saha, the film is currently on the floors. However, shoot has been halted for a few days due to Ramadan.
Film will highlight Mamata Banerjee’s movements
According to Junaid Khan, the film will depict several important incidents including the Chief Minister’s protest movements and hunger strikes. The period from 1993 to 2026 will mainly be shown. Starting from Banerjee’s movement in 1993 till the rise of her nephew and youth leader Abhishek Banerjee in the state politics – all this is shown in the film.
Junaid said, “Not many people know that Abhishek has been Mamata Banerjee’s shadow companion since the beginning of her movement right from his childhood. Abhishek used to walk around with a small flag in his hand during political agitations. Abhishek Banerjee started participating in political movements from the age of four. Ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections, the opposition has been attacking the Trinamool Congress in many ways. So, in the film, I want to show how Abhishek Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress are standing by the people of Bengal. This will be my gift as a party worker. An attempt to give a positive message, you could say.”
Who is Junaid Khan?
Junaid has acted in several commercial Bengali and Hindi films like ‘Shiva The Boss’, ‘Struggle’ (Hindi film) and ‘Beiman’. Earlier, he had also released a music album titled ‘Joy Bangla’. It is worth noting that Junaid himself is playing the role of Abhishek Banerjee’s elder brother in the film. The rest of the artists were selected through auditions.
