‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Set to Release on March 19, Yami Gautam Calls Sequel “Beyond Extraordinary”

The sequel to the popular 2024 film Dhurandhar, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026. In a recent engagement at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, actress Yami Gautam shared her emotional response to the film. Married to the film’s director, Aditya Dhar, Yami will also make a cameo appearance in the sequel. She disclosed that she has already seen the film and was deeply moved by it.

Yami Gautam’s Emotional Reaction

Yami expressed her enthusiasm for the film by stating, “I have already watched Dhurandhar 2. It is beyond extraordinary. I was really emotional.” She shared an anecdote about her experience, explaining that she was on her way to the airport shortly after watching the film and struggled to find the right words to convey her feelings to Aditya.

“I had to read a script, but I couldn’t. I had to watch something, but I couldn’t. I was just watching the beautiful sunset outside and wondering what I would tell Aditya when the flight landed,” she recounted.

Director’s Commitment to the Story

According to Yami, the sequel embodies Aditya’s dedication to both the story and its audience. She stated, “Aditya loves his audience and the country, and he has given his life’s effort to make this film. Dhurandhar 2 will be an experience the audience will never forget.”

Reflecting on the First Film

Yami also discussed her initial impressions of the first installment, expressing unwavering confidence in its potential impact even before its release. While shooting for Article 370, she first read the script of Dhurandhar, which was initially just 40 pages long. “My eyes welled up. I wasn’t able to say anything, and my reaction was enough to tell Aditya how I truly felt,” she recalled, emphasizing the significant effort and devotion that went into making the film.
