After the successful launch of Nesternship in 2020, where 1000 youth from over 30 cities and towns of India interned at Nestlé India, the internship programme will be rolled again in 2021 to upskill 1000 more youth of the country.  The COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath has had a significant impact on the youth, adversely affecting career prospects. Recognising the importance of enabling the youth of the country, Nesternship will offer experiential learning to empower them with skills to make them future ready.
The registrations for Nesternship 2.0 will begin from the 2nd week of March 2021 and will be communicated through various social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. The registrations will remain open for 2 days and interested students can apply for the internship. Final year graduates and post- graduates of any discipline can through the social media handles of Nestlé India, send in their applications
Nesternship will begin from 1st April 2021, and each intern will be assigned a mentor from Nestlé India to guide the intern during the course of their project. The total duration of skilling 1000 youth will extend between April and December of this year.
Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India said, “Nesternship programme was initiated in the early months of the pandemic to provide much needed internship opportunities for young professionals, when the environment was gloomy, and many found their job offers rescinded and internships withdrawn.   Nesternship as an idea is a part of our Global Youth Initiative, ‘Nestlé Needs Youth’, which focusses on Employability, Agripreneurship and Entrepreneurship. The response had been extremely encouraging where over 90,000 youngsters in India applied for 1000 slots. We want to enable more youth, this year, by giving them an opportunity to develop their skills in a professional environment, providing them a depth of experience and enhance their knowledge and confidence to face the workplace in future. The interns are paid for their efforts and each one will receive a stipend and certificate on completion of their internship. What’s more, they will be provided relevant soft skills training, interview techniques and inputs that will equip them better for their future!”
The shortlisting will be carried out on the basis of an online assessment along with other factors such as high school marks, graduation score, and other elements such as previous experience/ internships, if applicable. Nesternship will also offer a platform for developing the soft skills of the interns through various pre-recorded or classroom sessions.
