CM Siddaramaiah Communicates with Karnataka Residents Stranded in Dubai Amid Regional Tensions

The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka conducted a video call on Sunday to reach out to Kannadigas currently stranded in Dubai due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. A statement from the Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office highlighted that the Chief Minister was informed about the circumstances faced by people from Karnataka in conflict-affected regions, including Dubai. He has directed the Chief Secretary to liaise with officials from the Foreign Ministry to arrange for the safe return of these citizens.

Siddaramaiah reassured the stranded individuals during the call, emphasizing the government’s commitment to their welfare. He mentioned the establishment of a dedicated helpline to support the families of those affected, which is set to become operational from the following day. The Chief Minister indicated that 32 individuals from Ballari are among those currently in Dubai.

Assistance for Families of Stranded Individuals

While interacting with the affected citizens, Siddaramaiah urged their families not to panic despite potential communication disruptions. He assured them that the safety of every Kannadiga is a priority for the government. He mentioned that coordinated efforts are in place to monitor the situation closely and respond appropriately to ensure the safety of the stranded individuals.

In his address, Siddaramaiah expressed confidence in the ongoing measures to protect the citizens and facilitate any necessary assistance during this challenging time. The Chief Minister’s proactive steps reflect the government’s commitment to responding effectively to the crisis.

Indian Embassy’s Efforts to Support Nationals Abroad

In a related development, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, led by Ambassador Paramita Tripathi, engaged in a virtual meeting with around 100 representatives from the Indian community and heads of Indian associations. The purpose of this meeting was to update the attendees on the latest developments in the region and to reiterate the Embassy’s dedication to ensuring the safety and welfare of Indian nationals living in Kuwait.

The Embassy has also been assisting Indian citizens stranded in Kuwait due to a temporary airspace shutdown. Consecutive communications with local authorities, hotel management, and airline companies are underway to provide the best possible assistance to these individuals.

Regional Tensions Escalate Following Significant Incident

The calls for assistance and safety updates come in the wake of heightened regional tensions following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei due to strikes carried out by Israeli and American forces. The Iranian army reported downing ten advanced drones in response, which has raised concerns among various international observers about the evolving situation.

As the events unfold, the safety of individuals stranded abroad remains a pressing concern for both the Karnataka government and Indian authorities. The coordinated efforts between state and national bodies aim to provide effective support and assistance during this critical time for affected families and communities.
