Hyderabad Fire Tragedy Report: Dead Mother Found Clutching Her Charred Children

Horrifying details have come to light from the deadly fire that occurred in Hyderabad on Sunday. According to reports, 17 members of a family, including eight children, lost their lives in the massive fire. The fire broke out at a residential building above the Krishna Pearls shop in Gulzar House.

The building, where the fire erupted is reportedly very close to Hyderabad’s iconic historical monument Charminar. The victims of the incident, ranging in age from 1 to 73. All were trapped inside the building as the fire rapidly engulfed the whole structure.

Bystanders Try to Rescue Victims Amid Flames

According to reports, Zahid, a local bangle shop owner, and his friends were among the first to witness the fire. Both arrived after a woman from the building alerted them to the fire. Despite their quick response, the fire had already consumed much of the building.

“As the main door of the building was engulfed in flames, we broke the shutter and also a wall and went inside. As the blaze was high we went to the first floor. We found seven people in one room and six others in another room. We were not able to save them due to the fire. Had we saved them it would have been good,” he told news agency PTI.

Mother found clutching 4 children amid flames

They also recalled one of the most heart-wrenching sights on scene. One of the women was clutching her four children amid the intense fire. All the four were reportedly found dead, charred by the flames. “We could barely see through the smoke. We managed to bring out 13 people, but none of them survived,” Zahid added.

According to reports the family lived in the building for over a hundred years. The tragedy has left the entire community in mourning. Now only two surviving members of the once-large family are left behind.

Challenges in Rescue Operations

In addition, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Sneha Mehra highlighted the challenges faced by rescue teams. This was due to the building’s structure, which had only one initial entry point. The firefighters had to create another entry to gain access inside the building. She also noted that the area consists of old establishments with some new constructions and is characterized by narrow pathways.

Reports suggest that the area where the incident occurred has a row of jewellery shops, The building is very close to the iconic Charminar historical monument of Hyderabad. he affected area near Gulzar House is known for its numerous century-old jewellery shops situated close to each other. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the matter is underway.

Swift Response but Extensive Damage

Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, stated that the fire broke out around 6:00 am in the morning. She claimed that the Telangana Fire Department arrived at the scene as soon as possible by 6:16 am. Prabhakar also said that despite the fire department’s rapid response, the fire had already spread significantly.

She also said the bodies have been recovered and sent to hospitals and that the state government will share full information soon as the identification process continues. According to reports the fire was so massive that it spread across the building rapidly trapping people inside and resulting in the tragic loss of 17 lives. The firefighters managed to rescue around 10 to 15 people from the building.

Political Leaders Express Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep anguish over the tragedy on X. The PMO in a post on X wrote, “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000”.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, along with Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and former Charminar MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, visited the site. The visit was to oversee rescue operations and assess the situation.

Reddy said, “The fire broke out in a pearl shop owned by a family. The accident happened due to a short circuit. Many people have died in the accident. Some have been injured. I am not blaming anyone, but since Hyderabad is a rapidly developing city, the police, municipal, fire, and electricity departments should be strengthened.”

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has spoken with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for detailed updates on the inciden. The CM also extended his condolences to the victims’ families. He has directed officials to intensify relief efforts and ensure the best possible medical treatment for those injured in the tragedy.

Maharashtra: Car Falls Into Jagbudi River on Mumbai-Goa Highway, 5 dead

At least five people lost their lives on Monday morning after the car in which they were travelling lost control and plunged into the Jagbudi River in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri district. As per preliminary information from police, the car lost control, skidded off and fell 100 to 150 feet into the river at around 5 a.m. on Monday.

The ill-fated car was lifted out of the river with cranes, while bodies of the deceased were retrieved from inside by the Khed Police. The deceased have been identified as Mitali Vivek More (43), Megha Paradkar (22), Saurabh Paradkar (22), Nihar More (19) and Shreyas Sawant (23).

The passengers were travelling to Devrukh from Nallasopara in Palghar district to attend a funeral ceremony when the accident happened on the Mumbai-Goa Highway. While all five passengers died on the spot, the car’s driver was severely injured and has been hospitalised.

Local residents rushed to rescue victims

Hearing a loud noise of the car falling into the river, local residents rushed to the scene and tried to rescue the victims from the sunken car, while some of them dialled the police station. Rescue officials were also informed and they reached the spot soon after and rescued the driver, who was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver’s condition is said to be critical. The case is being further investigated by Khed Police Station to identify the root cause of the accident.

Video of drowned car being rescued goes viral

Disturbing visuals from the accident site have begun circulating online, capturing the aftermath of the tragedy. The car, believed to be a tourist vehicle, was retrieved from the river with the help of a crane. The video shows the mangled vehicle being lifted out of the water with its roof completely crushed. Police personnel and local residents can be seen assisting in rescue and recovery efforts.

Recent road accidents in Maharashtra

Recently, at least three people were killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between a tempo traveller and a truck on the Satara-Lonand route near Salpe village in Maharashtra during the intervening night of May 10 and 11. The truck was found to be speeding.

On May 9, in Maharashtra’s Raigad district, four people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident. The accident occurred on the Tala-Mandad road when a speeding dumpster hit a state transport bus. The injured were promptly moved to the nearest hospital. The state transport bus suffered massive damage in the accident.

Terror Module Busted in Andhra and Telangana; Two Held with Explosives

In a swift operation on Sunday, the counter-intelligence teams of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana foiled a terror plot aimed at carrying out bombings in India. Two suspects Siraj-ur-Rehman (29) from Vizianagaram and Syed Sameer (28) from Hyderabad were arrested and later remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. Authorities believe the duo was influenced by a handler based in Saudi Arabia and were planning blast rehearsals this month.

The investigation revealed that the two had created a radical group named Al Hind Ittehadul Muslimeen (AHIM). Siraj acted as the primary planner while Sameer, employed at a lift-operating firm, supported him. The pair were reportedly preparing for bomb-making drills around May 21 or 22. However, police intervention disrupted their plans before any damage could be done.

The operation began after officials received intelligence on suspicious activity in Vizianagaram. Siraj, who had completed an engineering degree and moved to Hyderabad under the guise of preparing for government exams, was found in possession of explosive materials including sulphur, ammonia, and aluminium powder. These items were allegedly ordered online and delivered to his address for use in planned attacks.

Sameer Held After Siraj’s Interrogation, Both Remanded Under Terror Charges

Based on information gathered during Siraj’s interrogation, Hyderabad police detained Sameer after securing a prisoner transit warrant from the court. Both suspects were then presented before a local magistrate in Vizianagaram, who ordered their custody under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for conspiracy to commit terror acts and disturbing public order.

Authorities further uncovered that the accused were communicating with an unidentified terror coordinator through Instagram. This handler is believed to be stationed in Saudi Arabia and was reportedly directing their activities digitally. Investigators noted that the two had accessed bomb-making tutorials online as part of their preparations.

This attempted attack follows closely on the heels of a brutal incident in Jammu and Kashmir. On April 22, heavily armed militants stormed Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 26 civilians, including one Nepali citizen. The assault caused panic among tourists in the scenic region, often dubbed “Mini Switzerland,” as they struggled to find cover in the open terrain.

Op Sindoor Resulted in Multiple Retaliatory Strikes

The Pahalgam tragedy triggered a sharp military and diplomatic response from India. On the night between May 7 and 8, India launched Operation Sindoor, a strategic cross-border offensive targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The operation led to several retaliatory strikes before both countries agreed to suspend hostilities across all military fronts four days later.

As tensions with Pakistan escalated, Indian intelligence agencies had warned about the possible activation of sleeper cells across the country. The latest arrests appear to validate those concerns. Officials have urged citizens to remain alert and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, a broader crackdown on suspected espionage networks linked to Pakistan has led to several arrests in northern India. In Haryana, three individuals, including a YouTuber, have been detained for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani operatives.

Four Held for Alleged Espionage Linked to Pakistan

Armaan, a 26-year-old from Nuh, was arrested for allegedly relaying intelligence about the Indian military to a staffer at Pakistan’s High Commission in Delhi. In Kaithal, Devendra Singh, a postgraduate diploma student, was caught for contacts with Pakistan’s ISI. Another accused, Shahzad from Uttar Pradesh’s Tandar village, had reportedly crossed into Pakistan multiple times and was involved in smuggling goods. In Hisar, social media personality Jyoti Malhotra was taken into custody for suspected espionage after posting vlogs from her recent trips to Pakistan.

As investigations continue, police say the threat from both home-grown and foreign-influenced extremist elements remains high. Coordination between intelligence agencies and state police forces has intensified to prevent further attempts to destabilise national security.

Delhi Zoo Launch Advisory to Prevent Avian Flu

The Delhi zoo has issued an internal advisory for its staff to enforce the strictest biosecurity measures after H5 avian influenza or bird flu was recently confirmed in a tiger that died at UP Gorakhpur zoo. The month of May is a time when summer holidays are on, and fall is usually high in the zoo. 

This memorandum was issued on Thursday by Dr Sanjeev Kumar, an IFS and the director of the Delhi zoo. “In view of the recent instances of avian and bird flu at Gorakhpur zoo, UP, all preventive measures for preparedness and surveillance for avian influenza have to be carried out in order to keep animals, visitors, and its staff safe and healthy.”

Precautions inside Zoo

There are several precautions being taken to avoid any health crisis among animals. These precautions include wearing a uniform inside zoo premises and not taking gumboots, caps, masks, and shoes used in the zoo home. A bed of lime or bleached powder should be made in front of the entry and exit of the zoo and on other enclosures to avoid infection.

Birds and wild animals are also to be inspected 2 to 3 times a day, and entries should be made in the logbook. Any notable incident or death of birds and wild animals should be immediately reported to senior officers. The leftover food of birds and wild animals should be disposed of safely.

“All section officers must ensure strict compliance with the above safety rules in their respective sections,” stated the note issuing instructions for internal staff.

Earlier this month, a Tigeress named Shakti died at Gorakhpur zoo while the laboratory confirmed the H5 strain of bird flu by the National Institute of High Security Animal Disease (NIHSAD), Bhopal. The authorities are also investigating the death of a leopard and a wolf in the same zoo.

ED Arrests Gujarat Samachar Director Over Tax Evasion

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Baahubali Shah, a director in the firm running one of the oldest newspapers in Gujarat, Gujarat Samachar and local news channel GSTV. After his arrest on Thursday evening, Shah got interim bail on the grounds of ill health, according to national media.

Shreyansbhai Shah, Baahubali’s elder brother and the publisher and managing editor of Gujarat Samachar, told national media that ED officials came with an arrest warrant for Baahubali following a two-day-long continuous search by the income tax department.

According to the family of Baahubali, he was arrested in connection with a case of money laundering that the agency has been probing since 2023. The newspaper company is being tracked by both the Enforcement Directorate and the IT department for tax evasion.

Opposition Responds

Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, took to the social media platform X and criticised the actions of the ED, “The attempt to silence Gujarat Samachar is another conspiracy to suppress the voice of not just a newspaper but the entire democracy. When newspapers that hold power accountable are locked, then we understand that the democracy is in danger. The arrest of Baahubali Shah is a part of the same politics of fear, which has now become the identity of the Modi government,” read the post by Gandhi

Yusuf Pathan Steps Back from Centre’s Operation Sindoor Outreach Team

In a recent development, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament and former cricketer Yusuf Pathan has declined the central government’s invitation to join a multi-party parliamentary delegation for the global outreach programme under Operation Sindoor. The Centre had named Pathan as part of a team set to visit several countries to present India’s strong stance against terrorism, especially after the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor.

Sources within the TMC revealed that the party was not consulted before Pathan’s name was included in the list of 51 leaders selected for the diplomatic missions. The TMC leadership, under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, promptly informed the Centre that neither Yusuf Pathan nor any other TMC MP would be joining the delegations. The party reiterated its position that foreign policy is the exclusive responsibility of the Union government and that the Centre should take full accountability for such international matters.

TMC Cites Lack of Consultation and Policy Stand

A senior TMC leader stated, “We believe the nation is above all, and we have always supported the government in protecting our country. Our armed forces make us proud, and we are grateful for their service. However, foreign policy is completely the Union government’s domain. Let the Centre decide and take responsibility.”

The government’s initiative was to send seven delegations, each comprising leaders from different parties, to 32 countries and the European Union headquarters. These delegations were to be led by senior MPs from various parties and supported by former diplomats, aiming to build global support for India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.

Yusuf Pathan was assigned to a team led by JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, scheduled to visit Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Alongside Pathan, the team included leaders from the BJP, CPI(M), Congress, and a former diplomat.

The TMC’s withdrawal follows similar criticism from other opposition parties, who have questioned the Centre’s approach and the lack of proper consultation. With Yusuf Pathan and the TMC stepping back, the party has made it clear that international diplomacy should remain with the Union government, and any such outreach should be directly managed by the Centre.

1990 से पहले के Revenue Documents भी होंगे Digital, योगी सरकार ने तेज की तैयारी

मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के नेतृत्व में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार डिजिटल इंडिया मिशन को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जा रही है। अब प्रदेश के 1990 से पहले के राजस्व अभिलेखों (Revenue Records before 1990) को भी डिजिटल फॉर्मेट में संरक्षित करने की तैयारी जोरों पर है। इसके लिए स्टांप एवं रजिस्ट्रेशन विभाग (Stamp and Registration Department) द्वारा जल्द ही एक उपयुक्त संस्था का चयन किया जाएगा, जो इस अहम कार्य को अंजाम देगी।

चरणबद्ध तरीके से हो रहा है डिजिटलाइजेशन

प्रदेश में पुराने अभिलेखों की स्कैनिंग और डिजिटलाइजेशन (Scanning and Digitisation of Revenue Documents) का काम पहले से ही चरणबद्ध तरीके से चल रहा है। विभाग द्वारा दी गई जानकारी के अनुसार 2002 से 2017 तक के दस्तावेजों का डिजिटलाइजेशन अप्रैल 2025 तक 95 प्रतिशत पूरा हो चुका है। वहीं, 1990 से 2001 के बीच के अभिलेखों की प्रक्रिया यूपीडेस्को (UPDESCO) के जरिए टेंडर के चरण में है। अब योजना का तीसरा चरण शुरू होने जा रहा है, जिसमें 1990 से पहले के तमाम पुराने राजस्व अभिलेखों को स्कैन कर डिजिटल रूप दिया जाएगा। इससे इन्हें लंबे समय तक सुरक्षित रखने और आसानी से एक्सेस करने में मदद मिलेगी।

Central Record Room में शिफ्ट होंगे पुराने दस्तावेज

डिजिटलाइजेशन के बाद पुराने दस्तावेजों की हार्ड कॉपी को सुरक्षित रखने के लिए उन्हें सेंट्रल रिकॉर्ड रूम (Central Record Room) में स्थानांतरित किया जाएगा। इससे उपनिबंधक कार्यालयों (Sub-Registrar Offices) में फाइलों के अंबार से मुक्ति मिलेगी और वहां जगह की उपलब्धता भी बढ़ेगी।

आम लोगों को मिलेगा सीधा लाभ

डिजिटल यूपी की ओर बढ़ता एक और कदम

यह पहल योगी सरकार की डिजिटल गवर्नेंस (Digital Governance) की उस सोच को दर्शाती है, जिसके तहत प्रशासनिक प्रक्रिया को पारदर्शी और सुलभ बनाया जा रहा है। राजस्व दस्तावेजों का डिजिटलाइजेशन उत्तर प्रदेश को तकनीकी रूप से और मजबूत बनाने की दिशा में एक मील का पत्थर साबित होगा। इस महत्वाकांक्षी योजना के तहत न केवल दस्तावेजों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित होगी, बल्कि आम जनता को भी सरकारी सेवाओं में पारदर्शिता और दक्षता का अनुभव मिलेगा। अब देखना यह है कि योगी सरकार की यह कोशिश डिजिटल यूपी (Digital UP) के सपने को कितनी तेजी से हकीकत में बदलती है।

Black Ivory Coffee: कनाडा के बिजनेसमैन ब्लेक डिंकिन ने ऐसी कॉफी ईज़ाद कर दी, जिसका स्वाद ज़ुबान पर चढ़ जाए तो कमाल ही कर जाता है। लेकिन दुनिया की इस बेहतरीन कॉफ़ी को बनाने का तरीका आपका मन खट्टा कर देगा। दुनिया की सबसे महंगी कॉफी में से एक Black Ivory Coffee हाथी के गोबर से बनती है। जी हां, हाथी के मल से बनाई जाती है दुनिया की सबसे महंगी कॉफी, एक कप कॉफी की कीमत 5 हज़ार रुपए है।

हाथी के मल से बनी Black Ivory कॉफी

Black Ivory Coffee की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट के मुताबिक यह कॉफी हाथी की लीद यानी पॉटी से तैयार होती है। ब्लैक आइवरी को तैयार करने की प्रक्रिया की शुरुआत बेहद अचंभित करने वाली है। हाथी को पहले भारी मात्रा में कॉफी के कच्चे फल खिलाए जाते हैं। हाथी इसे पचाने के बाद पॉटी (लीद) कर देते हैं। हाथी के इस लीद को एकत्र किया जाता है और फिर इस लीद में काफी के बीज तलाशे जाते हैं। एक हाथी को लगभग 33 किलो कॉफी के कच्चे फल खिलाए जाते हैं, जिसके लीद से एक किलो कॉफी के बीज निकाले जाते हैं।
Black Ivory Coffee: हाथी के लीद से निकाले गए कॉफी के बीज को धूप में अच्छी तरीके सुखाया जाता है। इस बीज को पिसा जाता है, फिर इसी से ब्लैक आइवरी कॉफी तैयार किया जाता है। अगर आपको कभी ब्लैक आइवरी कॉफी की चुस्कियां लेने का मौका मिला होगा तो जानते होंगे कि यह बिल्कुल भी कड़वा नहीं होता है। इस महंगी कॉफी को थाइलैंड में बड़े पैमाने पर तैयार किया जाता है।
