Tata Launches Retrofitted Air India Aircrafts

TATA Group ने 2022 में Air India का अधिग्रहण किया था। कंपनी का कायाकल्प कर उसे Tata Type बनाने के लिए उसने एक व्यापक योजना बनाई है। इसी कड़ी में Air India ने अपना पहला बदला हुआ Retrofitted Narrow-Body Aircraft, VT-EXN दुनिया के सामने पेश किया।

Tata Group का हिस्सा बन चुकी Air India ने आज अपने पहले रेट्रोफिटेड नैरो बॉडी एयरक्राफ्ट VT-EXN की झलक दुनिया के सामने पेश की। Airline ने इसे अपने बदलाव की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम बताया है। Tata Group ने 2022 में एयर इंडिया का अधिग्रहण किया था और इस प्रक्रिया में उसे 27 Narrow-Body विमान मिले थे। यह A320neo विमान उन्हीं 27 विमानों में से एक है। इस विमान को पूरी तरह से बदल दिया गया है। इसमें नया केबिन और आधुनिक सुविधाएं हैं। विमानों की Retrofitting का काम पिछले साल शुरू हुआ था। Retrofitting एयर इंडिया के अपने पुराने विमानों को बेहतर बनाने की क़वायद का हिस्सा है।

Tata ने बनाया 40 करोड़ डॉलर का बजट

Tata Group ने एयर इंडिया के विमानों की रेट्रोफिटिंग के लिए 40 करोड़ डॉलर के बजट का एक Programme सेट किया है। इसके तहत विमानों का कायाकल्प किया जा रहा है। Aircrafts में नई सीटें, Carpets और पर्दे लगाए गए हैं। साथ ही केबिन को भी नया लुक दिया गया है। Air India ने सोमवार को एक Press Release में बताया कि विमान में तीन श्रेणी की सीटें हैं। इनमें Business Class, Premium Economy और Economy शामिल हैं। ये सीटें यात्रियों के सफ़र को आरामदायक बनाने और आधुनिक उड़ान का अनुभव कराने के लिए बनाई गई हैं।

क्या है Tata Group का प्लान

VT-EXN उन 27 A320neo विमानों में से पहला Aircraft है जिसे बदला गया है। सभी 27 विमानों को 2025 की तीसरी तिमाही तक बदलने की योजना है। ये विमान Domestic और छोटी दूरी की International उड़ानों पर चलेंगे। इनके साथ ही 14 नए A320neo विमान भी होंगे जिनमें ऐसी ही सुविधाएं होंगी। विमानों के Retrofitting Programme में 3,500 से ज्यादा Economy क्लास की सीटें, 600 से ज्यादा Premium Economy की सीटें और 200 Business Class की सीटें लगाई जाएंगी। बदले हुए Aircrafts में Portable Electronic Device Holders, USB पोर्ट और बेहतर आरामदायक माहौल होगा। एयरलाइन ने कहा कि नए कालीन, पर्दे और Cabin Pannel एयर इंडिया की नई पहचान को दिखाते हैं। यह बदलाव सिर्फ Narrow-Body वाले विमानों तक ही सीमित नहीं है। एयरलाइन अपने बड़े विमानों को भी बदलने की योजना बना रही है। 40 B-787 और B-777 विमानों को भी नया रूप दिया जाएगा। पहला B-787 विमान अगले महीने Reconstruction के लिए भेजा जाएगा।

Air India के जनक JRD Tata

Air India एयरलाइन की स्थापना जहांगीर रतनजी दादाभाई टाटा ने Tata Air Services के रूप में की थी, जिसे बाद में 1932 में Tata Airlines नाम दिया गया। द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद, यह एक सार्वजनिक लिमिटेड कंपनी बन गई और इसका नाम बदलकर Air India कर दिया गया। 1953 में, भारत सरकार ने Tata Sons से एयरलाइन वाहक में बहुमत हिस्सेदारी खरीदने के लिए एयर कॉर्पोरेशन अधिनियम पारित किया। इसके संस्थापक JRD Tata 1977 तक इसके अध्यक्ष बने रहे। जब 1994 में विमानन क्षेत्र को निजी भागीदारी के लिए खोला गया, तो 6 प्रमुख निजी एयरलाइनों अर्थात् Jet Airways, Air Sahara, Modi Lufthansa, Damaniya Airways, NEPC Airlines और East-West Airlines ने Aviation Industry में प्रवेश किया जिसके चलते Aviation Sector में Air India को नुकसान का सामना करना पड़ा।

TATA की हुई Air India

27 जनवरी 2022 का दिन Tata Group के लिए ऐतिहासिक दिन था जब करीब 69 साल बाद आधिकारिक तौर पर Air India की कमान एक बार फिर Tata Group के हाथ आ गई। टाटा समूह की होल्डिंग कंपनी टैलेस प्राइवेट लिमिटेड ने 8 अक्टूबर, 2021 को कर्ज में डूबी एयर इंडिया के अधिग्रहण की बोली 18,000 करोड़ रुपये में जीत ली थी। इसके बाद अधिग्रहण की प्रक्रिया पूरी होने में करीब तीन महीने लग गए और आधिकारिक तौर पर Air India की कमान टाटा समूह को मिल गई है। Air India 90 साल बाद अपने मूल मालिकों के पास वापस आ गया है। Tata Group के लिए यह बहुत भावनात्मक महत्व रखता है, उनका मानना है कि इस अधिग्रहण से समूह को Aviation Industry पर अपनी पकड़ मजबूत करने में मदद मिलेगी और यह अपने अतीत का गौरव वापस लाएगा।

प्रयागराज में महाकुंभ 2025 के दौरान यात्रियों की भीड़ को संभालने के लिए की गई व्यवस्था की जानकारी देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि नई अवसंरचना का निर्माण किया गया, जिसमें सात अतिरिक्त प्लेटफार्मों का निर्माण शामिल रहा जिससे प्रयागराज क्षेत्र में 9 स्टेशनों में कुल प्लेटफॉर्म 48 हो गए हैं। इन स्टेशनों के लिए पहुंच मागों को चौड़ा भी किया गया ताकि तीर्थयात्रियों की सुगम आवाजाही सुनिश्चित हो। कुल मिलाकर, 17 नए स्थायी यात्री आश्रयों का निर्माण किया गया, जिससे इन आश्रयों की क्षमता 21,000 से बढ़कर 1,10,000 से अधिक हो गई। इसके अतिरिक्त, 21 नए उपरि सड़क पुलों और निचले सड़क पुलों का निर्माण किया गया, जिससे क्षेत्र में सभी समपारों को समाप्त हो गए हैं। Special Trains for Festivals

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ने कहा कि महाकुंभ के दौरान सुचारू परिवहन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक अच्छी तरह से समन्वित गाड़ी परिचालन योजना लागू की गई। प्रत्येक स्टेशन पर स्वयं का नियंत्रण कक्ष था, जबकि प्रयागराज जंक्शन पर एक केंद्रीय मास्टर नियंत्रण कक्ष था। गाड़ी परिचालन और स्टेशनों पर भीड़ प्रबंधन के लिए मानक संचालन पद्धतियां विकसित की गई थी। यात्रियों की भीड़-भाड़ को सुचारू बनाने के लिए व्यापक उपाय किए गए हैं, जिसमें प्रमुख स्नान दिनों पर स्टेशनों पर एक तरफ से प्रवेश और निकासी प्वाइंट तथा प्लेटफार्मों, पैदल पार पुलों और रैंप पर एकतरफा आवागमन शामिल है। उन्होंने बताया कि रेलवे ने महाकुंभ-2025 के लिए व्यापक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था उपलब्ध कराई जिसमें निगरानी और रियल टाइम मॉनिटरिंग पर जोर दिया गया था। रेल पथों और स्टेशनों के पहुंच मार्गो पर भीड़ प्रबंधन के लिए लगभग 1200 सीसीटीवी कैमरे, जिनमें 116 फेस रिकग्निशन सिस्टम कैमरे और ड्रोन कैमरे शामिल थे, तैनात किए गए थे।

Suryakumar Yadav to lead Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025

Indian international cricketer Suryakumar Yadav will lead Mumbai Indians in their first match of IPL 2025 against the Chennai Super Kings.The match will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23 (Sunday).

Meanwhile Hardik Pandya will miss Mumbai Indians season opener as he was banned for one match for his repeated over-rate offences last year. MI were deemed short of the required over rate in their last match in IPL 2024 against the Lucknow SuperGiants at the Wankhede Stadium. Captain Hardik was also slapped with a 30% fine on his match fee, as it was his third offence last year.

However, despite Pandya’s absence, Mumbai Indians boast a wealth of leadership experience. This includes Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah available as pro cricketers. A Fierce Rivalry

The season opener between Mumbai and Chennai is set to be a highly anticipated clash, as both teams are five-time IPL champions. Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20 captain, has been in good form recently. He led India to a 4-1 series win over England. Despite a quieter batting series for himself, scoring only 38 runs in five matches, he remains an ideal choice for the Mumbai captaincy. Pandya expressed confidence in Suryakumar’s leadership ability in his absence.

Hardik during MI’s pre-season press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday said, “Surya leads India as well. When I am not there, he is the ideal choice in this format and an exciting one as well.”

Hardik also said, “That is out of my control. Last year what occurred was part of the sport; we were one and a half or two minutes late in the last over. I didn’t know the consequences at that time. It’s unfortunate, but rules say this. So I have to go with the rules. Next year (whether) they will continue with this rule or not, that is up to the higher authorities.”

The Bombay High Court has intervened in the ongoing divorce case of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, directing the Bandra Family Court to fast-track their divorce proceedings. The court has given a deadline of Thursday, March 20, to resolve the matter due to Chahal’s imminent participation in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), where he is set to play for Punjab Kings.

Chahal to Pay Rs 4.75 Crore Alimony

The couple, who married in December 2020, has been living separately since June 2022. They filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025. However, complications arose when the family court, on February 20, refused to waive the mandatory six-month cooling-off period that allows couples to reconsider reconciliation. The court cited non-compliance with their settlement terms, particularly in regard to alimony payment. Chahal had agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore to Verma, but had only transferred Rs 2.37 crore at the time of the hearing.

In response, the couple appealed to the Bombay High Court, which acknowledged their separation for over two years and ruled in favour of waiving the cooling-off period. The High Court emphasised that the remaining amount of alimony could be paid once the divorce is finalised, as per the terms of their mediation agreement. The court has ordered the family court to decide the divorce petition by March 20, aligning with Chahal’s IPL commitments.

Family Denies Rs 60 Crore Alimony Rumours

Speculation surrounding the couple’s divorce had sparked rumors, especially about the alimony amount. Social media had falsely circulated claims that Verma demanded Rs 60 crore as alimony. Her family released a statement vehemently denying these allegations, calling the rumours baseless and stressing the importance of accurate reporting. They urged the media to respect the privacy of the parties involved.

Despite the challenges, the couple’s efforts to resolve their divorce are progressing swiftly, with the High Court taking steps to ensure the matter is settled before Chahal’s IPL season begins. The final resolution of the case is expected to bring closure to the couple’s marital issues.

The RSS has opened up amid the ongoing tensions at Maharashtra’s Nagpur over Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb. Over 30 people including police personnel were injured in the clashes that broke out between two communities after right-wing outfits held a protest demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Khultabad on Monday.

Opening up on the issue, senior RSS leader Sunil Ambekar said Mughal emperor Aurangzeb is not even relevant in the present day and any type of violence is not healthy for society. “The question is if Aurangzeb is relevant today, should the tomb be removed? The answer is that he is not relevant. Any type of violence is not good for the health of society,” the veteran RSS leader said.

Uddhav Thackeray’s sarcastic jibe: Call Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar

Meanwhile, opening up on Nagpur violence, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray took a jibe at the ruling BJP on Tuesday and said, “I am not the Chief Minister, nor am I the Home Minister, ask the Chief Minister who is behind this (violence). Because the RSS headquarters is there. There is a double-engine government here; if the double-engine government has failed, then they should resign…If you want, you can remove his (Aurangzeb’s) grave, but call Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar during that time…”

The reference to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, both of whom are key allies of ruling BJP- is likely made in the light of the Muslim population in each state, and the importance of their votes to the TDP and JDU, particularly with elections next year in the latter state.

Nagpur violence – Stone-pelting, arson and vandalism in Mahal and Hansapuri

Clashes broke out in Nagpur on Monday following the release of Bollywood’s historical drama ‘Chhaava’, which showcases how Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was tortured by Aurangzeb. The protests began when rumours surfaced that during the protest a sacred religious text was intentionally harmed which led the Muslim community to become enraged. Several police officers and common people were injured during the violence which involved stone-pelting, arson and widespread vandalism especially in Mahal and Hansapuri. Authorities implemented an area-wide curfew in Nagpur to prevent additional unrest from occurring.

The situation started intensifying when members from both Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) conducted a protest near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj monument in the Mahal region. Protesters set fire to both an effigy representing Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and a symbolic grave covered in green cloth while demonstrating to eliminate Aurangzeb’s tomb. The growing tension received additional fuel through social media videos which intensified the situation.

On Wednesday, Fahim Shamim Khan, a prominent local leader from the Minorities Democratic Party (MDP), was arrested by Nagpur Police for his involvement in the communal violence that broke out on March 17. Khan, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the riots, had earlier been named in an FIR lodged at Ganeshpeth Police Station. His arrest followed the release of a video that showed him giving an inflammatory speech moments before the violence began.

Samyuktha Narayanan, a seven-year-old from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, has made history. At a very young age she earned the title of the “youngest Taekwondo instructor ever.” Samyuktha’s remarkable achievement has not only garnered attention from India but has also captivated the world. At just seven years and 270 days old, Samyuktha earned the Guinness World Records (GWR) title, inspiring young dreamers globally.

Legacy in Martial Arts

Her parents, Shruthy and Narayanan, run the Madurai Taekwondo Academy. The academy has a legacy of martial arts excellence and training. Samyuktha’s mother Shruthy holds the record for the most full-contact elbow strikes in one minute with 211 strikes.

Her Father Narayanan boasts multiple records, including breaking the most flaming concrete blocks in 30 seconds (29) and smashing seven marble slabs with a single kick. Her parents in 2020, set the record for the most martial arts kicks by a pair in one minute (154, mixed).

Samyuktha from her childhood was inspired by her parents’ achievements. She aimed to follow in their footsteps. “My father and mother are my biggest inspirations. I used to admire [their] Guinness World Records certificates hanging on the walls in our home. It was my goal to achieve a GWR title and hang my certificate on the same wall,” she shared with GWR.

Samyuktha Narayanan’s training schedule

As per the GWR blog, she trains for two hours daily. “I wake up early in the morning and start my training with the other students. I do my homework as soon as I come home [from school]. Then I take some rest and go to the dojo for coaching along with my dad in the evening,” she said.

“I feel proud of myself standing as an instructor before kids of my age,” she continued, adding, “Sometimes I also learn from them.”

Sunita के पति Michael Williams एक पायलट हैं और इस समय Texas में US Marshal In Law Enforcement And Judicial Protection अधिकारी हैं। सुनीता और उनके पति दोनों सहपाठी थे और दोनों ने ही अपने Flying Carrier की शुरुआत Helicopter चलाने से की थी। सुनीता विलियम्स ने 1983 में Needham High School Massachusetts से अपनी स्कूली पढ़ाई पूरी की थी। बचपन से ही उनका सपना एक Veterinary Doctor बनने का था, लेकिन भाई Jay के US Naval Academy के एक दौरे ने उनके सपने का रुख़ मोड़ दिया और इसके बाद उन्होंने United States Naval Academy ज्वॉइन कर ली और यहां 1987 में फिजिकल साइंस में बैचलर डिग्री हासिल की। साल 1995 में उन्होंने Florida Institute of Technology से इंजीनियरिंग मैनेजमेंट में मास्टर डिग्री पूरी की। अपनी शिक्षा पूरी करने के बाद Sunita Williams 1987 में एक अधिकारी के रूप में अमेरिकी नौसेना में शामिल हो गईं। उन्होंने नौसेना पायलट के रूप में प्रशिक्षण लिया और 1989 में एक हेलीकॉप्टर पायलट बन गईं। उन्हें Operation Dessert Sheild और ऑपरेशन प्रोवाइड कम्फर्ट के दौरान Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea और Persian Gulf में ऑपरेशन सहित कई महत्वपूर्ण मिशनों को अंजाम देने की ज़िम्मेदारी दी गई थी।

Sunita ने Space में बनाए नए Records

5 जून 2024 को जब भारतीय मूल की अंतरिक्ष यात्री Sunita Williams और उनके साथी Butch Wilmore बोइंग के स्टारलाइनर स्पेसक्राफ्ट से International Space Station (आईएसएस) पहुंचे थे, तब किसी ने सोचा भी नहीं होगा कि उनका आठ दिन लंबा मिशन 9 महीनों से ज्यादा समय के लिए खिंच जाएगा। अमेरिकी समयानुसार 18 मार्च को देर शाम को जब सुनीता विलियम्स और बुच विलमोर पृथ्वी पर लौटे, तब वे ISS पर 286 दिन बिता चुके हैं। चौंकाने वाली बात यह है कि इस लंबी अवधि में सुनीता विलियम्स ने कई रिकॉर्ड्स अपने नाम किए हैं। इनमें स्पेसवॉक से लेकर स्पेसशिप में समय बिताने तक के रिकॉर्ड हैं।

Sunita अब तक तीन बार अंतरिक्ष मिशन पर जा चुकी हैं। इनमें 2006, 2013 और 2024 के स्पेस मिशन शामिल हैं। जहां उन्होंने कुल मिलाकर 608 घंटे अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पेस स्टेशन (आईएसएस) पर बिताए हैं। NASA के किसी अंतरिक्ष यात्री के लिहाज से यह अंतरिक्ष में दूसरी सबसे ज्यादा अवधि है। अमेरिकी अंतरिक्षयात्रियों में उनसे आगे सिर्फ Peggy Whitson हैं, जिन्होंने ISS पर 675 दिन बिताए हैं।

सुनीता विलियम्स ने ISS पर इस बार अपना सबसे लंबे समय तक Space में रहने का रिकॉर्ड बनाया। एक बार में 286 दिन तक अंतरिक्ष में रहकर Sunita Williams, NASA की रिकॉर्ड बुक में भी अपना नाम दर्ज करा चुकी हैं। दरअसल, अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों की बात करें तो एक दौरे में सबसे ज्यादा दिन तक ISS पर रहने का रिकॉर्ड अब तक Frank Rubio के पास है। वहीं, Mark Vande Hei ने अब तक 355 दिन आईएसएस पर बिताए हैं। इसके बाद Scott Kelly, महिला अंतरिक्ष यात्री Kristina और Peggy Whitson का नंबर है। इस लिहाज से एक दौरे में आईएसएस पर सबसे ज्यादा दिन बिताने वाले अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों में सुनीता विलियम्स छठे नंबर पर काबिज हो गई हैं।

SunIta Williams ने 62 घंटे 9 मिनट तक Space Walk की जो अब तक किसी महिला Astronaut द्वारा की गई सबसे लंबी Space Walk है। इस Mission के दौरान उन्हे ISS का कमांडर भी बनाया गया, जो किसी भी अंतरिक्ष यात्री के लिए बहुत बड़ी बात होती है। Sunita Williams अब तक 9 बार Space Walk ले चुकी हैं, जो Peggy Whitmor के 10 बार के रिकार्ड से कम है, लेकिन अवधि में Sunita, Peggy से आगे हैं।

Space Station में खाने की कमी नहीं

न्यूयॉर्क पोस्ट ने बीते साल 18 नवंबर को बताया था कि नासा के अंतरिक्ष यात्री Butch Wilmore और Sunita Williams अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन (ISS) पर पिज्जा, रोस्ट चिकन और झींगा कॉकटेल खा रहे हैं। हालांकि सीमित मात्रा में ताजा भोजन उपलब्ध होने की वजह से चालक दल के सदस्य इसका सेवन केवल शरीर में पौष्टिकता बनाए रखने तक ही सीमित रखते थे। स्पेस में अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को सीमित मात्रा में पाउडर दूध, पिज्जा, भुना हुआ चिकन, झींगा कॉकटेल और अनाज मिल रहा था। नासा के डॉक्टर इस बात की निगरानी कर रहे थे कि Astronauts को जरूरी कैलोरी मिलती रहे। NASA ने 9 सितंबर को एक तस्वीर भी शेयर की थी, जिसमें विल्मोर और विलियम्स को खाना खाते हुए दिखाया था। NASA का कहना है कि शुरू में ताजे फल, सब्जियां, रोस्ट चिकन और पिज्जा उपलब्ध था, लेकिन ये तीन महीने में खत्म हो गईं। इसके बाद काफी समय तक Sunita और Butch को पाउडर वाला दूध, डिहाइड्रेटेड कैसरोल और फ्रीज-ड्राई सूप से काम चलाना पड़ा। Space Station में अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के Urine और पसीने को भी इस्तेमाल के लिए रिसाइकिल क्या जाता रहा। ISS का एडवांस्ड फिल्ट्रेशन सिस्टम यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि एक भी बूंद पानी बर्बाद ना हो और उसे रीसाइकल किया जाए।

एक्सपर्ट का कहना है कि स्पेस में ताजा खाने की कमी हो सकती है लेकिन भोजन की कमी नहीं है। स्पेस में एक विस्तारित मिशन के लिए पर्याप्त भोजन है। ISS पर हर दिन एक अंतरिक्ष यात्री के लिए करीब 3.8 पाउंड भोजन उपलब्ध रहता है। इसके अलावा अप्रत्याशित मिशन विस्तार के लिए अतिरिक्त आपूर्ति उपलब्ध रहती है। NASA के स्पेस में फंसे Crew Members अपने 530-गैलन पानी रीसाइक्लिंग टैंक और आपातकालीन खाद्य भंडार पर निर्भर होते हैं। खाना Magnetic Tray पर धातु के बर्तनों के साथ तैयार किया जाता है ताकि भोजन को तैरने से बचाया जा सके।

NASA Space Operations Mission डायरेक्टर्स के डिप्टी एसोसिएट एडमिनिस्ट्रेटर्स जोएल मोंटालबानो ने इस मिशन के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए बताया है कि सुनीता और बुच ने आईएसएस पर रहते हुए 900 घंटों तक रिसर्च किया और इस दौरान 150 वैज्ञानिक प्रयोग किए। ये प्रयोग भविष्य में NASA Astronauts के लिए काफी मददगार साबित होने की उम्मीद जताई जा रही है।

9 महीने अंतरिक्ष में बिताने के बाद Sunita Williams और Butch Wilmore की सकुशल घर वापसी पर दुनिया भर से बधाई संदेशों का तांता लगा हुआ है। भारत के प्रधानमंत्री Shri Narendra Modi ने Crew9 का स्वागत करते हुए कहा,”धरती ने आपको Miss किया। आपने दिखा दिया कि दृढ़ता का सही अर्थ क्या है।”

अमरीकी राष्ट्रपति Donald Trump ने Astronauts की सुरक्षित घर वापसी के लिए Elon Musk, NASA और SpaceX का धन्यवाद किया। वहीं Elon Musk ने अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों का स्वागत करते हुए इस मिशन को प्राथमिकता देने के लिए Donald Trump का शुक्रिया अदा किया।

On Wednesday, Fahim Shamim Khan, a prominent local leader from the Minorities Democratic Party (MDP), was arrested by Nagpur Police for his involvement in the communal violence that broke out on March 17. Khan, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the riots, had earlier been named in an FIR lodged at Ganeshpeth Police Station. His arrest followed the release of a video that showed him giving an inflammatory speech moments before the violence began.

The unrest in Nagpur began when rumors spread regarding the desecration of a community’s holy book during a protest by Hindu groups like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. As the protests grew in intensity, they spiraled into violent clashes, with mobs attacking police officers and vandalising property. In the aftermath, over 30 police personnel were injured, and the situation quickly worsened.

Police Registers Multiple FIRs

Authorities confirmed that the violence spread across multiple areas in Nagpur, including Mahal and Hasanpuri, leading to a heavy police presence in the city. Over 2,000 armed personnel have been deployed to restore order, and curfews remain in place in several sensitive areas. Police have registered multiple cases, and several individuals have been detained for their role in the disturbances.

Adding to the chaos, an FIR was also filed after an on-duty female police officer was allegedly molested during the violence. According to the FIR, the accused man touched the officer and made inappropriate gestures.

Prominent Political Leaders Condemns the Situation

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have both condemned the violence, with Shinde referring to the incident as a “premeditated conspiracy.” Shinde further drew a controversial comparison, saying that like the U.S. disposing of Osama bin Laden’s body to prevent glorification, the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb should be considered to avoid honoring a controversial historical figure.

As investigations continue, Nagpur remains on edge, with the police striving to control the situation and restore peace to the city.
