BJP Launches Month-Long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ Nationwide From September 17

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to initiate a comprehensive campaign titled ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17, focusing on promoting the spirit of service within the community. The announcement was made by BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde during a press briefing in New Delhi on August 22. The initiative aims to embody the service ethos showcased by Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout his 25 years in public office.

This initiative consists of various service-oriented activities intended to connect beneficiaries with existing government schemes while also engaging youth in innovative service projects. Tawde emphasised the goal of reaching out to every segment of society by highlighting service contributions during the campaign.

In tandem with the launch of the campaign, a workshop was held for State Presidents, Organisation General Secretaries, and a selected group of party workers. Tawde noted that extensive preparations are underway to ensure effective implementation of the campaign down to the booth level across the country.

Significance of the September 17 Launch Date

The campaign’s commencement on September 17 is significant, coinciding annually with the celebration of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ to mark the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Modi. Tawde remarked that this year’s initiative is of particular importance, as it commemorates 25 years since Modi took oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. To mark this milestone, the BJP has decided to conduct the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to further strengthen its service outreach.

Various programmes will be arranged during the campaign period aimed at honouring individuals involved in grassroots service. Special focus will be given to recognising the contributions of Anganwadi workers, who play a pivotal role in ensuring child nutrition and care within their communities.

Furthermore, ‘Matri Samvad’ programmes will be conducted to engage with mothers and sisters associated with Anganwadi centres, reinforcing the ongoing efforts to improve public welfare through direct community interaction.

Innovations and Engagement Strategies Included

An innovative aspect of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is the introduction of the ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdan’ initiative, which encourages youth and citizens to document their service efforts through social media. This strategy aims to inspire broader participation in service activities by sharing impactful stories and visuals of community engagement.

The campaign will also spotlight projects such as cleanliness drives, tree planting efforts, and initiatives to identify tuberculosis patients. These activities will be creative and engaging, aiming to spread awareness and encourage action at various community levels.

Additionally, the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ aims to ensure that all eligible individuals can access government welfare schemes. Block-level camps will be organised for 15 days, allowing citizens to rectify any discrepancies in their enrolments. This initiative is designed to bridge gaps between government policies and community beneficiaries.

In a further effort to harness youth potential, a ‘National Innovation Challenge’ will be initiated to tap into innovative solutions for local issues. This challenge will prompt young participants to identify problems within their communities and propose creative, research-based solutions at district and state levels, fostering engagement and local problem-solving.

The overarching framework indicates that state-level workshops are scheduled to be completed by August 31, with district and block-level sessions following in the subsequent week. The BJP is positioning this campaign as a significant movement to enhance its outreach and service ethos across India.
