The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) has recently partnered with Pearson India, the world’s leading learning company, to provide basic educational amenities for underprivileged children. Pearson India has provided essential supplies in forms of books, materials, etc. to ensure the continuity of learning for school children in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
Through the collaboration with Pearson India, over 30,000+ pencil boxes and other stationery items have been provided to underprivileged children, as a consequence of TAPF’s commitment to create a better learning environment and support the mission of ‘no children losing out on education due to hunger’.
Speaking about the collaboration, Bhavya Suri, Director – PR & Corporate Affairs, India & MENA, Pearson, said, “As the world’s leading learning company, Pearson India’s key purpose is to create a better life and a better world, through learning. We’ve had a long history of making positive, social, and environmental impact, and are committed to provide inclusive and quality learning opportunities for all. The collaboration with The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a tiny step through which we aim to help underprivileged children in their journey towards learning and a promising future.”
Sundeep Talwar, Chief Marketing Officer, The Akshaya PatraAkshay Foundation lauded the partnership and said, “Pearson India’s efforts to support the learning and educational needs of The Akshaya Patra Foundation’s beneficiaries are deeply appreciated. We are grateful to the company for reiterating their support in Vrindavan by supporting children with essential supplies in forms of books, materials, etc. Such collaborations inspire and encourage us in our endeavour and enable us to go beyond mid-day meals to support the dreams and aspirations of children. It is heartening to see the faces of children lit up with a smile when they receive such wonderful gifts.”
As the implementing partner of the Government of India’s flagship school feeding programme, through its relentless commitment to creating a secure and educated future, The Akshaya Patra Foundation has grown from serving just 1,500 children in 5 schools in 2000 to over 1.8 million children in 19,039 government and government-aided schools from its 61 kitchens across 14 States and 2 Union Territories.
