The CSR Journal Magazine

On March 25, 2026, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel actively engaged with citizens at the State SWAGAT event, where he addressed various public complaints. This initiative aligns with the ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’ philosophy, emphasising citizen-centric governance. During the event, the Chief Minister provided directives to district administrations aimed at the swift resolution of grievances submitted by residents.

At the State SWAGAT, over 100 individuals from various parts of Gujarat presented their concerns. As per the official information released by the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), in addition to the public submissions, there was action taken on 1,218 grievances at the district level and 2,294 at the taluka level. The Chief Minister’s hands-on approach at this event underscores the administration’s commitment to addressing public issues promptly.

Immediate Action on Specific Complaints

A notable concern raised during the session involved an elderly woman who was reportedly facing eviction and abuse from her son and daughter-in-law. The Chief Minister expressed deep concern over this matter, directing both the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police to expedite the enforcement of the orders issued by the Deputy Collector to safeguard the woman’s wellbeing.

Further, the Chief Minister directed that urgent action be taken regarding educational infrastructure for approximately 300 children enrolled in a primary school associated with Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada University, which has been in existence for over four decades. He called for prompt approval for the construction of a new building to enhance the learning environment for these students.

Farmers’ Issues Addressed with Urgency

Recognizing the challenges faced by farmers, the Chief Minister called for prioritized solutions to their problems. He received a complaint pertaining to the obstruction of water flow in the Khari River at Dahegam, which was reportedly caused by overgrown vegetation harming agricultural land. The Chief Minister ordered that the obstruction be removed immediately. The District Collector confirmed that this would be addressed swiftly as part of the Sujalam Sufalam scheme.

Commitment to Transparent Governance

In addition, the Chief Minister directed local authorities to act without delay on various issues affecting farmers, including crop losses due to leaking underground pipelines and illegal encroachments on access roads to their fields. The State SWAGAT program served as a platform for the Chief Minister to reinforce the need for timely, fair, and transparent resolutions to citizen issues, aiming to bolster public trust in the governance system.

Key Officials Present at the State SWAGAT

During the State SWAGAT session, several senior officials accompanied the Chief Minister. This included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, and Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar, along with Officers on Special Duty D. K. Parekh and Rakesh Vyas, among others. Their presence highlighted the collaborative efforts of the administration in addressing public concerns effectively.
