The victim, recognised as Vikram Sharma, was attacked around 10:15 AM while he was returning from a gym session. Inspector General of Police for the Garhwal Range, Rajiv Swaroop, confirmed the details of the incident. He stated, “Vikram Sharma had gone to the gym, and a few unidentified miscreants shot him dead.” Following the shooting, law enforcement agencies have mobilised teams throughout the city to track down the perpetrators. An investigation has been launched to bring those responsible to justice promptly.

In a separate but related case, Dehradun Police reported the arrest of an individual connected to the murder of businessman Arjun Sharma, who was killed earlier in the week. According to police authorities, this incident also involved gunfire initiated by individuals on two scooters in broad daylight. Two of the suspects sustained injuries during a police encounter as they attempted to evade capture.

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajay Singh, provided insights into the planning that allegedly preceded Arjun Sharma’s murder. Singh mentioned that the suspects had been organising the crime for approximately 15 to 20 days. During a police operation targeting these individuals, one suspect was shot in the leg, necessitating medical attention at the District Hospital. Reports indicate that during attempts to arrest the suspects, they opened fire on the police, leading to injuries among the assailants.
