Jaipur School Tragedy: 9-Year-Old Girl Jumps to Death From Fourth Floor, Parents Demands Inquiry

The CSR Journal Magazine

A nine-year-old student, Amaira, died on Saturday after allegedly jumping from the fourth floor of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur. The shocking incident has triggered outrage among parents as they demand inquiry and raised questions about safety within school premises.

CCTV Captures the Incident

Police officials said CCTV footage captured the Class 4 student climbing over a railing while other children walked nearby. The fall, from a height of nearly 48 feet, proved fatal. “The nine-year-old girl jumped to her death from the school’s fourth-floor railing. CCTV footage of the incident provided the most crucial evidence in the case. Although the school administration destroyed the evidence by washing the scene with water, the CCTV footage exposed the truth,” the investigating officer stated.

Amaira was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. According to doctors, she sustained severe head injuries and multiple fractures that led to internal damage.

When police arrived at the scene, they reportedly found that the area where the girl had fallen had been cleaned. A forensic team later collected blood traces from the floor and walls. Mansarovar ACP Aditya Kakade said, “The school staff, upon hearing her scream, reached the ground floor and found her. She had sustained a critical skull injury, probably by falling.”

FIR Registered

The child’s parents, residents of Jaipur’s SFS area, have lodged an FIR against the school management, alleging that their daughter’s death occurred under suspicious circumstances. They have demanded an inquiry into the role of teachers and staff. District Education Officer Ram Niwas Sharma accused the school of non-cooperation, saying, “They completely disregarded the education department. The representative of principal Indu Dave did not even answer our call.”

The Joint Parents’ Association of Rajasthan has claimed that the girl was harassed by a teacher before her death. The association alleged an attempt to destroy evidence and called for strict action. “The tragic incident at Neerja Modi School, a prestigious private institution in Jaipur, has shocked the education community,” it said.

Education Minister Madan Dilawar termed the death “an extremely disheartening incident” and directed officials to investigate and identify any lapses. The school administration has not yet issued a formal statement. Police said that while suicide appears likely, the final cause will be determined after investigation.
