Father in UP Allegedly Kills Teenage Daughter Over Relationship Dispute, Dumps Dismembered Body

The CSR Journal Magazine

The investigation into the discovery of dismembered body parts of a teenage girl at a railway station in Lucknow has led authorities to conclude that it was an honour killing allegedly executed by her father. The girl’s remains were found on May 17 inside a tin box positioned in the sleeper coach of a train at Gomti Nagar Railway Station.

The victim, identified as fifteen-year-old Shabba, was discovered dressed in a salwar suit, with only her torso present in the tin box. Her limbs were kept in a separate bag, and her head was missing. The alarming nature of the crime has garnered significant attention in the Uttar Pradesh region.

Family Dynamics and Allegations of Social Stigma

Police investigations have revealed that Shabba was reportedly involved in a relationship with a boy from another community, which her father, Biggan Ansari, strongly opposed. He had allegedly issued multiple warnings to her, asking her to cease contact with him. Despite this, Shabba continued to maintain the relationship, prompting Ansari to feel increasingly anxious about potential social repercussion.

According to officers, Ansari’s apprehension was heightened by previous incidents where two of his daughters had left home. He feared that Shabba would similarly stray from family expectations. This concern allegedly drove him to commit the murder on May 16, just a day before the body parts were hidden.

An investigation into the family’s actions that day revealed that Ansari sent his wife and two sons to a relative’s residence before discussing his plan with his sister and brother-in-law, thereby suggesting premeditation. CCTV footage later collected from the train’s route played a crucial role in identifying the suspects involved.

CCTV Evidence and Arrests Made

Authorities examined CCTV recordings which showcased three individuals placing the tin box in the sleeper coach at Tamkuhi Road Railway Station in Kushinagar. The suspects identified were Ansari, his sister Noorjahan, and brother-in-law Mujibulla. These recordings have proven significant in piecing together the timeline and actions leading up to the discovery of the girl’s body.

After allegedly murdering and dismembering his daughter, Ansari believed that disposing of her head in a village pond would render the body unidentifiable. He then packed Shabba’s torso into the tin box while the severed limbs were kept in a separate bag.
