Face Crushed, Fingers Chopped: Brother Brutally Kills Minor Sister In Dehradun

An 18-year-old Class 12 student was found brutally murdered in the Vikasnagar area of Dehradun district, sending shockwaves through Dhalipur village. The mutilated body of the young woman was discovered late Wednesday night in bushes near the Shakti canal, approximately half a kilometre from her home in Boxa Basti.

The deceased was identified as Manisha Tomar alias Jyoti, daughter of Anand Singh. According to police, she had left her home around 6:30 PM with her cousin Surendra alias Madu on his motorcycle, reportedly to seek treatment for a toothache in the Vikasnagar area.

Gruesome Injuries Point to Savage Assault

When Manisha did not return home, her family and villagers began searching for her. Hours later, they found her body dumped near the roadside. Police officials described the scene as extremely disturbing. The victim had suffered severe head injuries, her face was crushed with a heavy stone, and several fingers were severed, suggesting a violent and sustained attack.

Key Evidence Recovered, Forensic Probe Underway

Police teams led by senior officers rushed to the site and secured the area. Several pieces of evidence were recovered, including the victim’s body, the suspect’s motorcycle, a blood-stained stone, keys, and a sickle believed to be the murder weapon. A forensic science laboratory team conducted overnight photography, videography, and evidence collection. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Cousin Named as Prime Accused, Manhunt Launched

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, an FIR has been registered against Surendra under murder charges. The accused has been absconding since the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate the killing may have been premeditated, as the suspect allegedly purchased the sharp weapon days earlier. However, the motive remains unclear.

Senior Police Officials Review Case

Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh, along with senior officers, visited the crime scene and met the bereaved family, assuring them of swift justice. Multiple police teams have been deployed to trace the accused. Authorities have appealed to the public to share any information that could aid in his arrest.

The incident has intensified concerns over women’s safety in rural areas, with the village gripped by fear and grief as the investigation continues.
