A disturbing incident has emerged from West Bengal involving a booth-level officer and his associate, leading to the arrest of both individuals in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old man. The victim, identified as Nasir Ali, was reported missing before parts of his dismembered body were discovered in a canal located in Baduria, within the North 24 Parganas district.

According to police officials, Rizwan Hasan Mondal, the booth-level officer (BLO), had allegedly engaged in an extramarital affair with Ali’s wife. On Monday evening, Mondal reportedly lured Ali to a secluded area under the guise of discussing matters related to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls taking place in the region.

Nasir Ali had been unaccounted for since that evening, prompting his family to file a missing person report the following day. As investigations proceeded, police utilized phone records and tracking of Mondal’s movements, which ultimately led to the grim discovery of body parts in the canal on Friday.

After the identification of the remains, police interrogated Mondal, which culminated in his arrest on charges of murder and the disposal of the body. Authorities revealed that the dismembered remains were scattered across three distinct locations within the canal. Mondal’s accomplice, Sagar Gyne, was also taken into custody for his role in assisting with the crime, which included the dismemberment and disposal of the body.

In light of this shocking incident, locals expressed their outrage by staging a road blockade in the vicinity, demanding justice for the victim. The protest lasted approximately half an hour but was eventually brought to a close as police engaged with the demonstrators to discuss their concerns.

As the investigation continues, the police are examining all aspects of the case to ensure accountability and justice for Nasir Ali and his family. The heartbreaking nature of this crime has stirred emotions in the local community, highlighting issues of safety and trust within interpersonal relationships.
