Bihar Horror: Burnt Bodies of Two Siblings Found Inside Patna Home, Family Alleges Murder

The CSR Journal Magazine

Panic and grief gripped Janipur village near Patna after the charred bodies of two children a 15-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were discovered inside their home on Tuesday afternoon. The incident sparked outrage and suspicion among locals, as the children’s family alleged foul play and demanded immediate police action.

The deceased, Anjali Kumari and Anshul Kumar, were reportedly alone at home after returning from school when the tragedy struck. Their mother, a nurse at AIIMS Patna, was the first to discover the horrifying scene upon returning from work. She found the burnt bodies in a room of their house and immediately raised an alarm. The children’s father, Lallan Gupta, works at the local election office and was informed shortly after.

Statement of Victims’ Father

“There were two to three men seen near the house. Following which my children, aged 15 and 10, were found dead inside the room. They were burnt after they were killed. If it was an accident, the boys would have run for their lives and could have even opened the door, but there was no such effort from their side, which proves that someone first killed them and then burnt their bodies,” Lallan Gupta, the victims’ father, told reporters.

A disturbing video from the scene showed one of the children’s burnt bodies lying on a bed, partially covered with a cloth. The mother sat outside, visibly devastated, as neighbors gathered to console the grieving family.

Locals, Family Slam Police Inaction

Tensions escalated as hundreds of villagers assembled near the house, demanding justice and swift action. The family openly criticized the police, alleging a lack of urgency in the investigation. “Had it been a VIP’s children, the police would have acted differently,” Gupta told reporters, visibly shaken and furious. “I want the culprits to be burnt alive.”

Family members and locals voiced concerns over what they called inadequate initial response from authorities. They accused the police of failing to secure the crime scene promptly or take concrete investigative steps in the critical early hours.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Law enforcement officials confirmed recovering the bodies and acknowledged the family’s allegations. While they have not officially ruled the deaths as homicides, a senior officer said all angles, including murder are being thoroughly investigated.

“The cause of death will be confirmed only after further examination,” the officer added. Forensic teams were deployed to gather evidence from the scene as investigators continued to interview witnesses and examine surveillance footage from the vicinity.

The tragedy has left the village in mourning, with residents demanding justice for the young victims and increased safety measures for families in the area.
