Police in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district have arrested the main accused in the murder of a woman and her two daughters in Samarlakota. The 36-year-old man, identified as Suresh, has been arrested for the murder of a woman and her two daughters in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district. Police revealed the killings were a result of a fallout in a two-year extramarital affair.
The victims Madhuri (30), and daughters Pushpa Kumari (5) and Jessy (4), were discovered dead in their home in Seetharam Colony, Samarlakota, on August 3. All had sustained fatal head injuries caused by a blunt object.
Husband Initially Suspected
Madhuri’s husband, Dhan Prasad, returned from his night shift and found the front door locked from the inside. He climbed over the back wall and discovered the bodies. Initially, he was detained for questioning after locals expressed suspicion, but the focus later shifted to Suresh.
Relationship Pressure and Greed
According to Kakinada SP Bindu Madhav, Suresh spent ₹7 lakh on Madhuri and was being pressured to leave his wife. On the night of the murder, she allegedly asked him for a gold-plated washing machine. After a sexual encounter, Suresh killed her and her daughters, fearing exposure.
Suresh attempted to stage the scene as a robbery by stealing gold ornaments and mobile phones. However, police ruled out theft and arrested him after a detailed investigation. A post-mortem was conducted at Peddapuram Government Hospital, and a chargesheet is being prepared.
Similar incident
In a separate incident in Dr B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district police uncovered a chilling plot where a 24-year-old man, Harshvardhan, attempted to murder his father, Venkata Ramana, to claim insurance money. The attempt occurred on April 21, when he tried to run his father over with a car.
Despite suffering injuries, the father survived and later urged police not to file charges against his son. After a three-month probe, police registered an attempt to murder case and seized the hired vehicle used in the crime.
