‘Didi’s Agent’: Amit Shah Dismantles Sting Video Claims, Rules Out ‘Babri’ Construction in Bengal

The CSR Journal Magazine

With the electoral heat reaching a crescendo in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering counter-offensive against recent allegations stemming from a controversial “sting operation” involving Humayun Kabir. Addressing a massive rally, Shah dismissed the viral footage as a “fabricated script” and pivoted the narrative toward a high-stakes debate on religious identity and political loyalty.

The Script of Deception

The controversy erupted following the release of a sting video purportedly showing Humayun Kabir in conversation with an unidentified individual. In the footage, claims were made regarding back-channel communications with senior BJP leadership. The dialogue even suggested financial inducements and a proposal from Suvendu Adhikari to move to Delhi.

However, Amit Shah wasted no time in labeling Kabir as a “plant” by the Trinamool Congress (TMC). “Humayun Kabir is nothing more than an agent of Didi (Mamata Banerjee),” Shah declared. He asserted that the video was a pre-planned conspiracy designed to tarnish the BJP’s reputation and mislead the electorate just days before they head to the polls. According to the Home Minister, the entire episode was orchestrated to create a false perception of internal collusion.

Polarization and the ‘Babri’ Warning

While the sting video provided the initial spark, Shah’s rhetoric took a sharper turn toward ideological polarization. In a move that has sent political ripples across the state, he invoked the Ram Mandir issue to draw a line in the sand regarding Bengal’s future.

“The people of Bengal are ready for a transformation. A BJP government is a certainty here,” Shah proclaimed. He further added a provocative warning: “Let me be very clear under a BJP administration, there is no possibility of a Babri Masjid being constructed in Bengal.” By linking the local election to the broader national narrative of the Ayodhya temple, Shah sought to consolidate the saffron vote bank while simultaneously painting the TMC as an entity catering to “appeasement politics.”

The Electoral Fallout

Despite the TMC’s efforts to use the video as “proof” of a secret pact between the BJP and certain individuals, Kabir himself has denied the authenticity of the footage. The video, which includes sensational claims about keeping portions of massive funds drawing comparisons to Nitish Kumar remains unverified.

As the “Sting vs. Script” battle intensifies, Shah’s intervention has effectively shifted the focus from administrative allegations to a battle of identity. With the Home Minister’s “agent” tag now firmly attached to the controversy, the final phase of campaigning in Bengal has turned into a high-octane clash of narratives.
