A massive blood donation drive was organised across India to mark the 63rd birthday of Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. The drive collected an impressive 27,146 units of blood in just one day, setting a new record and surpassing last year’s total of 24,500 units. This annual event, which began in 2011 with only 1,400 units collected, has grown into one of the country’s largest voluntary blood donation campaigns.
The Adani Foundation, which leads the group’s community work, arranged the drive in more than 150 cities. Employees of the Adani Group took part enthusiastically, along with volunteers from local communities. The event was supported by the Adani Healthcare team and was carried out in partnership with the Indian Red Cross Society and several government hospitals. This ensured that the donated blood would reach people in need all over India.
A dedicated team of over 2,000 professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and support staff, worked together to make the drive a success. Their efforts made sure the donation process was safe, smooth, and well-organised for everyone involved.
Adani Foundation’s Blood Donation Drives
Over the years, the Adani Foundation’s blood donation drive has become a major effort to support healthcare in India. Each year, more people join the cause, showing the power of coming together for a good purpose. The blood collected is used to help patients in need of transfusions, surgeries, and emergency care. It is separated into different components like plasma, platelets, and red blood cells, so that it can help as many patients as possible.
Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, thanked all the donors and volunteers for their commitment. She said their support shows the Adani Group’s dedication to helping society and saving lives.
This year’s record collection of 27,146 units is a proud achievement for everyone involved. It highlights the importance of regular blood donation and sets an inspiring example for others to follow. The Adani Foundation’s annual blood donation drive continues to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of people across the country.
