Initially, the production team considered involving veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, who directed the original. However, Dhawan decided against revisiting past projects following the remakes of Judwaa and Coolie No. 1. Farhad Samji has reportedly approached Dhawan for guidance before taking on the project. The scripting is progressing quickly, with casting plans expected to begin by March 2026.
