Pawan Hans Helicopter with Seven Onboard Crashes into Sea in Andaman; All Rescued

A Pawan Hans helicopter, carrying a total of seven individuals, including two pilots, crashed into the sea near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday morning. The helicopter took off from Sri Vijaya Puram around 8:45 a.m. and went down approximately 45 minutes later, around 9:30 a.m., in the waters close to Mayabunder. Following the incident, a preliminary investigation indicated that a technical malfunction occurred, prompting the pilot to attempt a crash-landing on the sea, according to information provided by a senior Civil Aviation official.

The helicopter was transporting three men, a woman, a child, and the two pilots at the time of the incident. All individuals aboard have been successfully rescued. The passengers rescued include Rajita Devi and her infant Kamal Ch. Das, Sipra Saha, and Nambi Amma. These individuals have been transferred to Dr. RP Hospital in Mayabunder, where they are currently receiving medical observation and treatment. Authorities have confirmed that both pilots are safe and accounted for.
