A Pawan Hans helicopter, carrying a total of seven individuals, including two pilots, crashed into the sea near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday morning. The helicopter took off from Sri Vijaya Puram around 8:45 a.m. and went down approximately 45 minutes later, around 9:30 a.m., in the waters close to Mayabunder. The helicopter was transporting three men, a woman, a child, and the two pilots at the time of the incident. All individuals aboard have been successfully rescued. The passengers rescued include Rajita Devi and her infant Kamal Ch. Das, Sipra Saha, and Nambi Amma. These individuals have been transferred to Dr. RP Hospital in Mayabunder, where they are currently receiving medical observation and treatment.
