An elderly man in Odisha’s Deogarh district is accused of killing three family members, including his wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, using a hammer. The violent incident reportedly occurred late Wednesday night, following a prolonged family dispute. The individual, identified as Ramesh, is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident and subsequently fled the scene.

Discovery of the Crime Scene

The horrific nature of the crime was revealed when Ramesh’s son returned home, only to find the bodies of his family members. Disturbed by the gruesome discovery, he quickly contacted the authorities. Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack was the ongoing domestic discord within the family. It is alleged that in a moment of anger, Ramesh struck his wife, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter with the hammer, resulting in their deaths.

Police Investigation Underway

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene soon after being notified about the incident and began collecting evidence.
