Eloped Teen and Drunk Boyfriend Create Chaos, Climb Onto Police Jeep in Rajasthan

The CSR Journal Magazine

High-voltage drama unfolded in Rajasthan’s Kota on September 19 when a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, allegedly attempting to elope, climbed atop a police jeep and refused to come down. The incident occurred in the Rampura area when officers approached the duo, following a tip-off related to a missing person case filed by the girl’s family.

From Missing Report to Viral Mayhem

The girl had been reported missing at the Nanta Police Station earlier in the week. When Rampura police located the pair, the man, suspected to be intoxicated, lifted the girl onto the roof of the police vehicle, then joined her. Instead of complying, the duo shouted slogans, created a disturbance, and refused repeated police requests to step down.

The situation escalated as onlookers gathered, bringing traffic in the area to a standstill. For about ten minutes, the couple banged on the vehicle and hurled abusive language. The girl kept yelling, “Let him go,” defending the man and requesting police to spare him. Videos of the bizarre standoff soon surfaced online, attracting sharp public criticism.

Police Intervention and Legal Action

Eventually, officers managed to pull both individuals down from the jeep and transported them to Rampura Kotwali police station. A case was filed against the 22-year-old under multiple charges including public obscenity, creating a public disturbance, and eloping with a minor. Police officials confirmed that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.

Similar Incident in Bhopal Raises Concern

A similar case of public nuisance occurred last week in Bhopal, where a group of allegedly drunk youths vandalized property near Raja Bhoj’s statue. They destroyed a dustbin and hurled it into the Upper Lake, causing disruption and endangering public safety. Both incidents have reignited concerns over growing youth indiscipline in urban areas.
