According to a communication from DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan, this meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Kalaignar Arangam, located within the Anna Arivalayam complex in Chennai.

Assembly Elections: Key Facts

The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly comprises a total of 234 elected seats. Political parties within the state are actively finalizing their campaign strategies and seat-sharing arrangements as they prepare for the elections. The DMK’s District Secretaries’ Meeting is anticipated to play a vital role in aligning the party’s efforts across various districts, enhancing the overall campaign effectiveness.

MDMK’s Participation and Seat-Sharing Agreement

In a related development, the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Assembly elections, with plans to contest four seats. This follows a seat-sharing agreement reached between DMK’s MK Stalin and MDMK General Secretary Vaiko during discussions held on March 11. Congress and Further Seat Sharing

Additionally, the Congress party has also finalized its seat-sharing arrangements within the alliance, signifying its intention to contest 28 Assembly constituencies in the upcoming elections. As part of these arrangements, the DMK is set to allocate one of its seats to the Congress for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, reinforcing collaboration among the alliance partners.
