“Definitely We Will Win as Our Nation is Determined”: Iran Amid Ceasefire Talks

The CSR Journal Magazine

In light of a tentative ceasefire with the United States regarding the ongoing West Asia conflict, Deputy Representative of the Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran in India, Dr Mohammad Hossein Ziyaeenia, asserted that Iran is poised to achieve victory. He emphasised that any delays on the part of the opposing forces would be futile and recommended the acceptance of ten conditions proposed by Tehran for a resolution.

During an exclusive interview, Ziyaeenia highlighted the unwavering support of the Iranian populace for both the government and the military. He noted that “this country will not be defeated,” referencing the public’s demonstrations of support in Iranian streets where citizens are reportedly rallying nightly. His statements reflect a deep conviction in Iran’s resolve and capacity to sustain its stance against external pressures.

Ziyaeenia urged that the opposition should reconsider and accept the conditions set forth by Iran to end hostilities, reinforcing his claim that Iran’s determination is evident amid ongoing conflicts. He alleged that the opposing sides are merely prolonging the inevitable.

Condemnation of US Actions

The Deputy Representative also took aim at US President Donald Trump for his escalatory rhetoric regarding military action against Iranian energy targets. He expressed concern over the apparent disregard for international laws in the President’s statements, which suggested an intention to eradicate aspects of Iranian civilisation.

He questioned the silence of international bodies, including the United Nations, in response to such provocative declarations. Ziyaeenia stated that the lack of accountability for these threats is troubling and brings to light various geopolitical dilemmas in current international relations.

Moreover, he brought attention to the implications of violent actions within diplomatic contexts, citing the assassination of Iranian officials as violations of negotiating norms. This commentary signifies Iran’s stance on being perceived as victims of aggression rather than instigators of the conflict.

Iran’s Proposal for Conflict Resolution

Amid ongoing hostilities, Iran unveiled a ten-point plan aimed at achieving a permanent cessation of the conflict in West Asia. The proposal reportedly includes measures to halt regional violence, secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and facilitate reconstruction in affected areas, while also advocating for the lifting of international sanctions imposed on Iran.

This initiative comes after the United States presented a 15-point plan that Iran deemed excessively demanding. The diplomatic landscape has been marked by stalled negotiations following an inconclusive first round of talks held in Islamabad, highlighting the difficulties in reaching a consensus.

Recent statements from the US President suggested that Iran is under significant internal pressure, describing the country as being in a “state of collapse.” This assertion has intensified speculation regarding Tehran’s leadership issues and its potential implications for international relations.

In parallel, the White House is reportedly exploring new measures to resolve the conflict and address the strategic needs surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that discussions on a renewed proposal had occurred at the highest levels of the administration, underscoring the urgency of finding a resolution to the ongoing crisis.
