भारत में अब भी हाथ से सीवर सफाई (Manual Scavenging in India) की घटनाएं सामने आने पर चिंता जताते हुए, राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग (National Human Rights Commission – NHRC) ने सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के मुख्य सचिवों को पत्र लिखकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा 2023 में जारी 14 महत्वपूर्ण निर्देशों को तत्काल लागू करने की सिफारिश की है। यह निर्देश डॉ. बलराम सिंह बनाम भारत सरकार (2023) केस में दिए गए थे, जिसमें सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा था कि दिल्ली, मुंबई, चेन्नई, कोलकाता, बेंगलुरु और हैदराबाद जैसे बड़े शहरों में हाथ से मल या गटर सफाई पर पूर्ण रोक (Ban on Manual Scavenging) होनी चाहिए। आयोग ने कहा कि यह प्रथा मानव गरिमा और समानता के अधिकार का उल्लंघन है, जो Article 21 और Article 14 के खिलाफ है।

राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग ने सभी संबंधित अधिकारियों, सफाई कर्मचारियों (Safai Karamchari), ठेकेदारों और नागरिकों के बीच कानूनी जानकारी और सामाजिक जागरूकता फैलाने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया है। आयोग ने कहा कि ऐसे मामलों में जल्द से जल्द FIR दर्ज कर कानूनी कार्यवाही होनी चाहिए और सफाई कर्मचारियों को सुरक्षा उपकरण (Safety Gear for Sanitation Workers) अनिवार्य रूप से उपलब्ध करवाए जाएं।

आयोग ने एक प्रभावी निगरानी तंत्र (Monitoring Mechanism) स्थापित करने की मांग की है ताकि हर स्तर पर Manual Scavenging पर रोक लग सके। इसके साथ ही आयोग ने राज्यों से कहा है कि वे 8 हफ्तों के भीतर अपनी कार्रवाई रिपोर्ट NHRC को भेजें। NHRC का यह निर्देश एक निर्णायक मोड़ है, जो भारत को Manual Scavenging जैसे अमानवीय प्रथा से मुक्ति दिला सकता है। अब जरूरत है कि राज्य सरकारें और नगर निकाय मिलकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेशों को सख्ती से लागू करें और सफाई कर्मियों को सम्मान और सुरक्षा प्रदान करें।

The eastern coastal state Odisha is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in India famous for its temples, beaches, wildlife, hills, tribes, handicrafts and handloom. Capital city Bhubaneswar is called the city of temples. The temple architecture style called Kalinga is unique to this region which is characterized by curvilinear shapes and delicate stone carvings. Odissi or Orissi dance, a major ancient Indian classical dance originated in the temples of Odisha ages ago.

Odisha hit headlines in June 2023 when three trains collided in Balasore district leaving more than 290 people dead and over a 1000 people injured. On 2nd June 2023, the accident involving the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train loaded with iron ore, took place near the Bahanaga Baazar station in Odisha’s Balasore district, which goes down in history as the deadliest train accident in India.

Over 83% of Odisha’s population is rural, while nearly half of it belongs to various socially marginalised communities. The state can be divided into 2 regions – coastal and inland districts. While the former is fertile with a high agricultural yield capacity, the latter are remote, hilly and barren with little forest cover, thus restricting the people’s access to socio-economic development.

In FY 2022-23, Odisha received a total of Rs. 987.59 Cr. from 479 companies with the district of Jharsuguda enjoying the highest share of CSR funds (Rs 223.36 Cr). Other districts enjoying a fair share of CSR funds include Sundargarh, Khordha, Kendujhar, Angul, Cuttack and Sambalpur.

The top three sectors of focus for CSR initiatives were Education, Health and Rural Development, which received Rs. 425.32 Cr., Rs. 353.13 Cr., and Rs. 76.05 Cr. respectively. The top three spenders in the district were Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (Rs. 207.96 Cr.), Tata Steel Limited (Rs. 126.16 Cr.), and Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd (Rs. 86.38 Cr.).

CSR of SBI Securities for eye care

SBI Securities, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, collaborated with Sightsavers India for its “Netra Vasant – Rural Eye Health Programme” to enhance the eye care services in multiple districts of Odisha and West Bengal. Through the Programme, this initiative directly addresses the critical need for improved healthcare infrastructure, specifically in preventive eye care.

The project also aims to strengthen the capacity of District Hospitals and NGO Hospitals in the region by providing them with essential medical equipment for their Eye Outpatient Departments (OPDs) and Eye Operation Theatres (OTs). These healthcare facilities are instrumental in delivering vital eye care services to their communities, often serving vulnerable populations who face significant barriers in accessing quality treatment.

Schools Renovated in Jharsuguda through CSR

Sustainable manufacturing venture Runaya recently concluded its education infrastructure project in Jharsuguda, Odisha. Focused on transforming rural education and strengthening community development, the initiative has delivered revitalised school infrastructure that included improved learning spaces, upgraded sanitation, kitchen facilities, and a fully equipped library, aimed at fostering a safe, hygienic, inclusive, and future-ready environment for students.

As part of its commitment to empowering underserved communities, Runaya’s flagship grassroots initiative, Project Laadli, marked a major milestone with the completion of the Education Infrastructure Transformation Program across multiple schools in Jharsuguda, from primary to upper primary and high schools. By promoting access, equity, and empowerment, the initiative has directly benefitted more than 351 students and staff, positively impacting over 3,560 lives across western Odisha.

The newly renovated school facilities were inaugurated by senior district officials, community leaders, school faculty, and Runaya leadership. To ensure the longevity and sustainability of these upgrades, a School Students Committee has been established under the guidance of the Headmaster and Sarpanch.

CSR of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited was carved out of South Eastern Coalfields Limited in 1992 with its headquarters at Sambalpur. The company has focused on welfare activities mostly in areas like Jharsuguda, Angul, Khurda, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Sundargarh. They have also carried out CSR activity in Bolangir, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jajpur, kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Rayagada and Sonepur.

The major projects include Construction of boundary wall and toilet, supplying drinking water, tree plantation, Construction of temporary sand bandha on the bed of Ib river, donating blankets and other necessities, road construction, construction of hostel and hall for schools, building toilets in schools, supplying water for domestic purpose and construction of road over bridge among others.

Biogas plant from waste at Paradeep through CSR

Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL) has teamed up with Paradeep Municipality and National Institute of Technology, Karnataka – Surathkal (NITK) to develop a biogas plant from waste at Paradeep Municipality, District Jagatsinghpur, Odisha, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that TCMPL is carrying out in India.

The biogas plant enhances the deployment of circular solutions to efficiently manage organic waste. In particular, this initiative will help Paradeep Municipality to generate biogas by converting food and vegetable waste through anaerobic digestion; the biogas obtained from the recycling of organic waste will be then used by community kitchens.

This project is expected to create jobs for local people engaged in the waste collection activities and bring educational benefits, serving as a model for innovative solutions and actively engaging university students in practical learning experiences. A first pilot plant, in fact, was inaugurated in 2021 at NITK campus, promoting research and improving energy self-sufficiency within the campus. The generated energy is obtained by converting food and vegetable waste from the hostel blocks and canteens.

CSR collaboration with Odisha Government to transform Anganwadi Centers in Jharsuguda

On the occasion of Children’s Day 2024, the Anil Agarwal Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) to upgrade 500 Anganwadi centres across Jharsuguda into state-of-the-art Nand Ghars, which are modernised Anganwadis that act as centres of women and child development.

Jharsuguda, which is the highest recipient of CSR funds in Odisha for FY 2022-23 is the home to Vedanta’s aluminium operations and is the location of the world’s largest aluminium smelter. Launched in 2015, Nand Ghar is Vedanta’s flagship community initiative, developed under the aegis of the Anil Agarwal Foundation in collaboration with the Government of India’s Ministry of Women & Child Development.

Apart from the MoU signing, held at the MCL Community Centre in Beheramal, the Children’s Day event “Dukan Jatra” brought together over 3,500 participants, including students from 60 schools, community members, and Vedanta Aluminium’s employee volunteers. The event featured an Entrepreneurship Showcase with 60+ stalls run by students, offering a diverse range of self-made products, from handicrafts to food items, fostering creativity and entrepreneurial skills.

CSR for Energy Conservation – Urja Mela

In an attempt to promote energy conservation and adoption of clean energy, Tata Power hosted the first-ever State-Level Urja Mela in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in November, 2024. The event witnessed the participation of over 470 students from across Odisha. Serving as a precursor to Tata Power’s national Urja Mela annually conducted during National Energy Conservation Week, the event was part of the company’s Club Enerji initiative, which promotes sustainability through hands-on activities, experiential learning, and inclusive participation.

The Odisha Urja Mela featured various competitions, including a Science Exhibition, Best Out of Waste models, Painting, Quiz, and an essay competition, encouraging students to embrace environmental stewardship, resourcefulness, and innovation in energy conservation. In a strong show of inclusivity, special competitions were also held for visually impaired and deaf students, in alignment to Tata Power’s Pay Autention initiative, which focuses on empowering the neurodiverse community.

Over the past three years, Club Enerji’s footprint in Odisha has expanded. Through Tata Power’s four Discoms — TPCODL, TPWODL, TPNODL, and TPSODL — the initiative has engaged more than 500 schools across the state, including key regions like Bhubaneshwar, Sambalpur, Behrampur, Baleswar, creating a vibrant community of young energy conservation advocates. The students who participated in the state-level event were nominated after series of regional mini-Urja melas.

A special feature of the event was Tata Power’s Gaja Sanrakshana initiative, which raises awareness about biodiversity and habitat conservation by protecting the native Asian elephant in Odisha. This initiative highlights the importance of environmental conservation and inspires the young audience to value the natural ecosystems.

CSR of Hyundai Motor India

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) inaugurated Telemedicine clinic in Humma, Rambha, Pattapur, Raj Ranpur and Godipara villages in the Ganjam and Nayagarh district of Odisha in May 2024.

The five telemedicine clinics are an extension of HMIF’s social outreach initiative ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’ that emphasizes making quality and affordable medical services accessible to rural India through technology. The clinics are run in association with Karma Healthcare a leading social enterprise in this field.

In these telemedicine clinics, the patient is first assessed by the nurse who understands the concern and then connects him/her to the right empanelled specialist, over a video call. Post consultation, the nurse writes out the prescription and dispenses the medicines. The system allows for follow-ups as well. The entire service inclusive of medicines is available for just Rs 100.

The clinics are linked with labs where basic pathology and blood tests can be conducted. Serious cases will be referred to hospitals in Odisha. Health camps for cancer screening, eye check-up, general screening will also be conducted from time to time.

These five clinics will add to the existing network of 20 telemedicine clinics under ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’ already operational in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana taking the total number to 25.

Jindal Sports Hostel in Keonjhar

JSP Foundation the CSR arm of Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) runs the Jindal Sports Hostel at Soyabali in Odisha’s Keonjhar or Kendujhar District. This initiative aims to promote rural sports talents and provide residential facilities to 60 children who have demonstrated sporting prowess and a commitment to academic excellence. The Jindal Sports Hostel, established by JSP Foundation has been founded with the purpose of nurturing young athletes from underprivileged backgrounds.

Aligned with the Government of Odisha’s focus on sports infrastructure development, the Jindal Sports Hostel is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. The facilities include comfortable accommodations, modern sports equipment, a fourth-generation gym, and a dedicated sports training facility staffed with experienced coaches. Moreover, the Foundation will provide the students with nutritious meals and physical fitness training.

CSR of Indian Oil Corporation Limited

Indian Oil collaborated with the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai to set-up an off campus of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai at Bhubaneswar. The institute named ICT Mumbai Indian Oil Odisha Campus, Bhubaneswar was inaugurated in 2018. It has been planned to evolve into an R&D / innovation hub to carry out high-end research in chemical engineering, petrochemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals and energy.

With an aim to provide livelihood enhancing skill development training to unemployed and underprivileged youth, the ‘Skill Development Institute, Bhubaneswar’ (SDI-B) was set up in 2016 in a temporary campus. The SDI Main Campus is being developed as mega-worldclass, model skill development academy at Jatni Tehsil of Khurda; near IIT Bhubaneswar.

‘IndianOil Vidushi’ CSR programme was started in 2018. Under this CSR initiatve, specialised coaching and mentoring is provided to under-privileged girls after class XII, to help them succeed in JEE Mains, JEE Advanced & other Central and State Engineering College Entrance Examinations.

CSR of National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALCO)

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) was established on January 7, 1981 having its registered office at Bhubaneswar. The company’s major CSR activities include supporting Open Defecation Free (ODF) programme in five villages of Angul, plantation in and around Chandaka Damapara Wild life Sanctuary, construction of BT road from Malkarbandh to Maliput, Medical Health Unit at peripheral villages of M&R Complex, Damanjodi Potangi, S&P complex, Angul and Utkal D & E Coal Block, and supporting residential education of backward and tribal underprivileged children.

The company has also taken up developmental projects like school building, Anganwadi centre, RCC road, Toilets & water drainage system in Ambagaon village, Damanjodi and constructed class rooms, furniture and provided sports materials to schools in Angul Districts. It has also ensured drinking water supply by providing tubewels in Angul districts.

Bengaluru Hit-And-Run: Techie Killed in Drunken Road Rage Over Cigarette Dispute

A very shocking incident of road rage has come to light from Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. Here, a 29-year-old software engineer was killed and his friend injured after being hit by a car. This comes after a drunk driver deliberately rammed his motorcycle into them.

The incident follows a petty argument over a cigarette. The deadly incident occurred in the early hours of May 10 near Konanakunte Cross in Bengaluru.

Cigarette Demand Leads to Death

According to police reports, Sanjay and Chetan were working from home on the night of May 10. They allegedly stepped out at around 3:50 AM for a cup of tea. While they were near a roadside tea stall, a Hyundai Creta pulled up next to them. The driver of the creta identified as Pratheek, was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. He was returning from a birthday party with his wife. He then asked the duo to buy him a cigarette from the tea stall.

However, Chetan refused and suggested that he should purchase his own cigarette. Soon an argument broke out between the group. The onlookers, along with Pratheek’s wife, intervened and diffused the situation. As the matter calmed down the techies rode off on their motorcycle.

Deliberate Crash Captured on CCTV

However the situation took a drastic turn when Sanjay and Chetan were taking a U-turn near Konanakunte Cross. Aggrieved, Pratheek followed them in his Creta around the corner. In a drastic step, Pratheek deliberately rammed his car into their bike. The footage of the crash was captured on the CCTV.

The collision was so severe that it sent the motorcycle crashing into a shop’s shutter. Chetan sustained minor injuries after being thrown onto the car’s bonnet. While Sanjay suffered a critical head injury after falling onto the pavement and was rendered unconscious.

Following the incident the duo was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. But Sanjay succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Attempt to Murder Charge Upgraded to Murder

Pratheek was initially booked for attempted murder when the incident occurred. However, the case against him was upgraded to murder following Sanjay’s unfortunate death. Pratheek has since been remanded to judicial custody. Furthermore, the Police have confirmed that Pratheek’s wife had no role in the alleged crime.

Victim Identified, Friend Injured

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as HN Sanjay. The victim is reportedly a resident of Vajarahalli, a mid-segment locality in Bangalore. His friend, Chetan Pujamath, 30-years-old sustained injuries but survived the attack. Pujamath is a fellow software engineer residing in JP Nagar 7th Phase.

Meanwhile, the accused, Pratheek, 30-years-old, is a BCom graduate and manager at a private firm. Pratheek reportedly lives in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Investigation ongoing

The incident has sparked widespread outrage among Bengaluru’s tech community. The case is a stark reminder highlighting the dangers of drunk driving. The CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying the accused and confirming the deliberate nature of the attack. Meanwhile, the Police have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

India-Pakistan News: आतंकियों के पनाहगाह पाकिस्‍तान की करतूतों को इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर उजागर करने के लिए मोदी सरकार ने स्‍पेशल टीम गठित की है। कांग्रेस के सीनियर लीडर और सांसद शशि थरूर इस टीम की अगुआई करेंगे। थरूर यूएन में भी अपनी सेवाएं दे चुके हैं, ऐसे में उनके अनुभवों को देखते हुए सरकार ने पाकिस्‍तान के खिलाफ इंटरनेशनल मुहिम चलाने के लिए गठित टीम की बागडोर उन्‍हें सौंपी है। बताया जा रहा है कि शशि थरूर अमेरिका और यूरोप के कुछ अन्‍य देशों में जाकर पाकिस्‍तान की साजिशों के बारे में पब्लिक ओपिनियन बनाएंगे। टीम के अन्‍य सदस्‍य दुनिया के अन्‍य देशों में जाकर पाकिस्‍तान की पोल खोलेंगे। बता दें कि पाकिस्‍तान आतंकवादियों के लिए सुरक्षित ठिकाना है। UN और अमेरिका की ओर से प्रतिबंधित आतंकवादी आज भी वहां खुलेआम घूमते हैं। पाकिस्‍तान के सेनाध्‍यक्ष जनरल आसिम मुनीर की टीम में ओसामा बिन लादेन के सहयोगी का बेटा शामिल है, जिससे आतंकवादियों के प्रति इस्‍लामाबाद के संबंध को सहज ही समझा जा सकता है।

India-Pakistan News: युद्ध के मैदान में पाकिस्‍तान को धूल चटाने के बाद भारत अब आतंकिस्तान की इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर बेइज्‍जती करने की तैयारी की है। इसके लिए मोदी सरकार ने बकायदा एक टीम बनाई है। जानकारी के अनुसार, इस टीम की अगुआई कांग्रेस सांसद और इंटरनेशनल मामलों के जानकार Shashi Tharoor करेंगे। उनके अलावा टीम में बीजेपी के निशिकांत दुबे, रविशंकर प्रसाद, बांसुरी स्‍वराज, अनुराग ठाकुर (सभी भाजपा के), समलान खुर्शीद, कनीमोड़ी, जॉन ब्रिट्स जैसे देश के तेज-तर्रार नेता शामिल हैं। टीम के सदस्‍य दुनिया के अलग-अलग हिस्‍सों में जाकर पाकिस्‍तान की ओर से फैलाई जा रही झूठ को उजागर करेंगे और आतंकवादी गतिविधियों में उसकी संलिप्‍तता के बारे में उन्‍हें बताएंगे। इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर पाकिस्‍तान की बेइज्‍जती और उसकी पोल खोलने की तैयारी है।

India-Pakistan News: सूत्रों के अनुसार, सरकार ने थरूर से अमेरिका और यूरोप में बहुदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व करने के लिए संपर्क किया था क्योंकि वह विदेश मामलों की स्थायी समिति के अध्यक्ष हैं। इस बीच, यह भी पता चला है कि थरूर के अलावा कुछ अन्य विपक्षी सांसद भी प्रतिनिधिमंडल का हिस्सा होंगे। सलमान खुर्शीद के जापान जाने वाले प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व करने की संभावना है, जबकि श्रीकांत शिंदे UAE और कुछ अफ्रीकी देशों के प्रतिनिधिमंडल की अगुवाई करेंगे। केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से जिन देशों में प्रतिनिधिमंडल भेजे जा रहे हैं उनमें यूएस, ईयू, दक्षिण पूर्व, मध्य पूर्व, अफ्रीका, ऑस्ट्रेलिया और यूके के नाम शामिल हैं।

India-Pakistan News: पीएम मोदी की छवि एक ऐसे लीडर की है, जो अपने फैसलों से चौंकाने के लिए जाने जाते हैं। विपक्षी सोच भी नहीं पाते और पीएम मोदी कर जाते हैं। शशि थरूर को बहुदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल में शामिल करने का निर्णय भी कुछ ऐसा ही है। लेकिन शशि थरूर को करीब से जानने वाले जानते हैं कि उन्‍हें चुन पीएम मोदी ने कितना बड़ा दांव खेला है। संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र में काम करने का लंबा अनुभव रखने वाले शशि थरूर कूटनीति के के बड़े जानकार हैं। ऐसे में पाकिस्‍तान को अंतरराष्‍ट्रीय स्‍तर पर बेनकाब करने में वह अहम रोल निभा सकते हैं। India-Pakistan News: शशि थरूर को संयुक्‍त राष्‍ट्र में काम करने का काफी लंबा अनुभव रहा है। 1978 में UNHCR (संयुक्त राष्ट्र शरणार्थी उच्चायुक्त) में अपना करियर शुरू करने वाले थरूर 1981 से 1984 तक सिंगापुर में UNHCR कार्यालय के प्रमुख रहे। 1989 में वह विशेष राजनीतिक मामलों के लिए अवर महासचिव के विशेष सहायक बने, जिसमें यूगोस्लाविया में शांति अभियानों की जिम्मेदारी भी शामिल थी। 2001 में उन्हें संचार और जन सूचना विभाग (DPI) के अंतरिम प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया, और बाद में 2002 में उन्हें संचार और जन सूचना के लिए अवर महासचिव बनाया गया। थरूर 2006 में कोफी अन्नान के बाद महासचिव की रेस में थे। लेकिन वह महासचिव नहीं बन पाए थे। थरूर 2006 में महासचिव की रेस में दूसरे स्‍थान पर रहे थे। शशि थरूर कूटनीति के अच्‍छे जानकार हैं। वह जानते हैं किस देश की क्‍या फितरत है और उसे कैसे जवाब देना है। यही वजह है कि जब अमेरिकी राष्‍ट्रपति डोनाल्‍ड ट्रंप के भारत और पाकिस्‍तान के बीच सीजफायर की घोषणा करने से पहले ही वाहवाही लूटते हुए उन्‍होंने सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्‍ट किया, तो थरूर ने पीएम मोदी की चुप्‍पी का समर्थन किया था। थरूर ने पीएम मोदी की चुप्‍पी को कूटनीति का हिस्‍सा बताया था। इससे पहले वह रूस-यूक्रेन युद्ध के मुद्दे पर मोदी सरकार की कूटनीति की तारीफ कर चुके हैं। India-Pakistan News: शशि थरूर शुरुआत से ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के समर्थक रहे हैं। पीएम मोदी ने उन्‍हें अब बहुदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का हिस्‍सा बनाया है, लेकिन थरूर अपना काम काफी पहले से ही शुरू कर चुके हैं। ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद भारत-पाक तनाव के बीच शशि थरूर ने  विभिन्न चैनलों पर मीडिया के जरिए भारत का पक्ष दुनिया के सामने रखा है। इसके कायल भारत के कई नेता रहे हैं।

ओवैसी को क्यों चुना

‘India-Pakistan News ‘मैं भारतीय सेनाओं की तरफ से पाकिस्तान में आतंकवादी ठिकानों पर किए गए हमलों का स्वागत करता हूं। पाकिस्तान को ऐसी सख्त सीख दी जानी चाहिए कि फिर कभी दूसरापहलगाम न हो। पाकिस्तान के आतंकी स्‍ट्रक्‍चर को पूरी तरह नष्ट कर देना चाहिए।’ ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद AIMIM प्रमुख असदुद्दीन ओवैसी की पूरी छवि बदल गई है। इस दौरान उनकी एक देशभक्‍त की जो छवि सामने आई, उसकी तारीफ भाजपा नेता भी जमकर कर रहे हैं। शायद ही ऑपरेशन सिंदूर से पहले किसी को उम्‍मीद थी कि ओवैसी, पाकिस्‍तान को इतनी खरी-खरी सुना सकते हैं। ऐसे में पीएम मोदी ने ओवैसी को बहुदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का हिस्‍सा बनाकर कोई हैरान नहीं किया है। India-Pakistan News: असदुद्दीन ओवैसी भारत सरकार के ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के शुरुआत से ही समर्थक रहे हैं। कई टीवी चैनलों पर उन्‍होंने मोदी सरकार के इस कदम का समर्थन किया और पाकिस्‍तान को खरी-खरी सुनाई। कई मौकों पर तो वह पाकिस्‍तानी प्रवक्‍ताओं से भिड़ते हुए भी नजर आए। ओवैसी ने कहा कि पाकिस्‍तान को उसके किये की सख्‍त से सख्‍त सजा दी जानी चाहिए। एक न्‍यूज चैनल को दिये इंटरव्‍यू के दौरान उन्‍होंने कहा कि देश उनके लिए सबसे पहले आता है। उनके दिल में जो होता है, वही कहते हैं। लोगों को कई बार अच्‍छी लगती है, तो कई बार बुरी! लेकिन मुझे करीब से जानने वाले मेरे हिंदू दोस्‍त जानते हैं कि मैं कैसा हूं। बहुदलीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल में कौन-सा दल किस देश में जाएगा, यह जानकारी तो अभी सामने नहीं आई है, लेकिन ऐसा माना जा रहा है कि मुस्लिम चेहरा होने के नाते ओवैसी को मुस्लिम देशों को साधने में लगाया जा सकता है। दरअसल, अंतरराष्‍ट्रीय स्‍तर पर ओवैसी की छवि एक पक्‍के मुसलमान की है, ऐसे में जब वह मुस्लिम देशों के सामने भारत का पक्ष रखेंगे, तो उनकी बात में एक अलग वजन होगा। ओवैसी एक राजनेता होने के साथ-साथ काबिल वकील भी हैं, जो अपनी बात को तर्क के साथ रखते हैं। आमतौर पर उनकी बात को काटना बेहद मुश्किल होता है। ये खूबी उन्‍हें दूसरों से जुदा करती है। ऐसे में वह भारत का पक्ष दूसरे देशों के सामने बेहद मजबूती से रख सकते हैं।

 1994 की तरह पार्टियां एकजुट

Safdarjung Hospital Delhi में अब किडनी रोग से पीड़ित बच्चों को डायलिसिस (Pediatric Dialysis) के लिए लंबा इंतजार नहीं करना पड़ेगा। अस्पताल के बाल चिकित्सा नेफ्रोलॉजी विभाग (Pediatric Nephrology Department) में दो नई Hemodialysis Machines लगाई गई हैं, जिससे बच्चों को बेहतर और समय पर उपचार मिल सकेगा। ये मशीनें CSR in Healthcare के तहत लगाई गई हैं।

Kidney Failure in Children के लिए Life-Saving Technology

Delhi AAP Faces Jolt as 13 Councillors Resign, Plan New Party

In a significant political development, thirteen municipal councillors have resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, dealing a serious blow to the ruling party’s influence in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). The disgruntled leaders have come together to form a new faction named the Indraprastha Vikas Party, under the leadership of veteran politician Mukesh Goel, a former Leader of the House in the MCD.

The development comes at a time when AAP is already facing internal strife and recovering from recent electoral setbacks. Just months ago, the BJP reclaimed the reins of the MCD in civic polls, a contest that the AAP chose to boycott. Furthermore, earlier this year, the party suffered a major defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, which further weakened its political standing in the capital.

The councillors stepping away from AAP include Mukesh Goel, Hemchand Goyal, Dinesh Bhardwaj, Himani Jain, Usha Sharma, Sahib Kumar, Rakhi Kumar, Ashok Pandey, Rajesh Kumar, Anil Rana, and Devendra Kumar. Interestingly, most of them were formerly associated with the Congress Party but switched allegiance to AAP ahead of the last MCD elections.

Explaining the reasons behind the split, Ward 109 corporator Ashok Pandey told PTI:

“We came here to work for development of our ward. The work is not happening. We were in Aam Aadmi Party for 2.5 years, our main issue was that our colony was unauthorised. So, people were facing issues of garbage and drainage… We didn’t get funds from party to work. We tried to talk to AAP’s senior leadership but there was no action.”

Councillor Himani Jain also expressed her frustration, citing the lack of governance and leadership in the MCD.

“In the last 2.5 years, no work was done in the corporation. We were in power, yet we did nothing. We have formed a new party because our ideology is to work for the development of Delhi. We shall support the party which will work for the development of Delhi. So far, 15 councillors have resigned. More may join.”

The group officially announced their exit and the formation of the new party on Saturday, with Goel at the helm. Goel, a political veteran with 25 years of experience as a councillor, had joined AAP from Congress in 2021 and even contested the 2024 Delhi Assembly elections from Adarsh Nagar but lost.

This is not the first time AAP has witnessed a defection of its municipal leaders. Just three months prior, three councillors Anita Basoya (Andrews Ganj), Nikhil Chaprana (Hari Nagar), and Dharamvir (R K Puram) shifted allegiance to the BJP.

Leadership Gap Triggers AAP Exist

The discontent among the councillors appears to stem from a perceived lack of support and communication from AAP’s senior leadership. Despite being in power within the MCD after the 2022 civic elections, several councillors claim that the party leadership failed to coordinate effectively with them, ultimately weakening AAP’s hold and pushing it into the Opposition.

To manage the rising dissatisfaction, AAP carried out a major restructuring in March, naming Saurabh Bharadwaj as the new president of its Delhi unit. Former deputy CM Manish Sisodia was handed charge of Punjab, while Gopal Rai was appointed in-charge of Gujarat. AAP’s national general secretary Sandeep Pathak took over as special in-charge of Chhattisgarh.

Despite these internal adjustments, the exodus of these 13 councillors signals ongoing turmoil within the Delhi unit of the Aam Aadmi Party. With more councillors expected to follow suit, the launch of Indraprastha Vikas Party could reshape the local political landscape ahead of future municipal and state elections.

A routine Uber ride on the streets of North Miami took a harrowing turn. This comes after rising rapper Krissy Celess, also known as Bomb Ass Krissy, and her friend were allegedly threatened at gunpoint by their Uber driver. The horrifying confrontation reportedly began over a disagreement over directions.

The incident reportedly occurred on late Monday when Celess attempted to guide the driver on which turn to take. However, the situation quickly escalated into a life-threatening encounter as the driver placed both at a gunpoint.

Altercation Sparks After Passenger Gives Directions

According to rapper Krissy Celess, the situation unfolded when she attempted to guide the driver on where to turn, prompting a defensive reaction. “I said, ‘Hey, the turn is right here. You’re going to make a left.’ And she was in the middle lane and she was like, ‘Oh, you don’t have to tell me. That’s what I have a GPS for,’” Celess recounted in an interview with WSVN.

Celess commented on the driver’s “scary eyes”, shortly after this exchange. A remark she believes may have triggered the driver’s extreme reaction pointing a gun at them.

Viral Video Shows Driver Pulling Gun

Celess shared video footage of the incident on Instagram. The video shows the driver yelling, “Get out of my vehicle now! You’re no longer on the ride. Get out!”. Moments later, she calls 911 before drawing a gun and pointing it at the two passengers seated in the back. This comes after hearing Krissy comment on the driver’s “scary eyes”.

“It just escalated so quickly. I was focused on the gun,” said Celess, who feared she might never see her 4-year-old son again.

Legal Action Planned Against Uber

According to reports, Celess and her friend have announced plans to file a lawsuit against Uber. Their attorney, Carlos Dominguez, condemned the driver’s actions as “extremely aggressive”. Carlos described the incident as “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

“You know, emotions can sometimes spur out of control because of a simple disagreement, but those disagreements do not necessitate a firearm to be pointed at you,” Dominguez said. He further said, “Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Simply shocking. I mean, you get the first-person perspective of having a gun pointed at you.”

Uber Responds, Removes Driver from Platform

Uber has responded to the viral video, stating, “This is concerning, and we’re so sorry this happened,” said Uber. Uber’s guidelines explicitly prohibit drivers from carrying firearms, and therefore, the ride-hailing service has removed the driver from its platform. Uber is currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is being led by the Hollywood Police Department.

Husband Chops Wife Into Pieces Amid Dowry Dispute, Throws Body Parts in Uttar Pradesh

In a gruesome case that has shaken the region, a 31-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife, whose dismembered and partially burnt remains were scattered across multiple locations in Shravasti district. The accused, identified as Saifuddin, allegedly killed his 25-year-old wife, Sabina, during a trip to Lucknow, chopped up her body, and disposed of the parts over a 10-kilometre stretch including dumping some into a canal and hiding a burnt hand in a garden.

How the Incident Came to Light?

The crime came to light on May 14, when Sabina’s brother, Salahuddin, noticed her phone was switched off and grew suspicious. After visiting their home and learning the couple had reportedly gone to Lucknow, he was alarmed to see Saifuddin roaming around alone that same evening. Unable to contact Sabina, he filed a missing persons complaint with local police.

Saifuddin was detained for questioning, but initially misled the investigators. After two days of sustained interrogation, he confessed to murdering his wife and detailed how he attempted to destroy the evidence by burning and dispersing her body parts.

Police have since recovered a charred hand from a nearby garden. Search efforts are ongoing to recover the rest of Sabina’s remains. Authorities confirmed that the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and destruction of evidence.

Family members of the victim allege that dowry harassment was the motive behind the killing. “They had been pressuring her for dowry. He killed her and tried to burn her body. We found her hand,” said Salahuddin.

Rising Trend of Spousal Murders Raises Alarm

This incident highlights a disturbing pattern in India an increase in marital homicides, often rooted in long-standing domestic abuse or dowry-related disputes. Both men and women have been implicated in spousal killings in recent times. In many such cases, body dismemberment and concealment of evidence follow the murder, showing a troubling level of premeditation.

Legal experts and activists point to the lack of early intervention in domestic violence cases, inadequate support systems, and slow legal processes as reasons why such crimes continue. They stress the urgent need for stronger domestic violence prevention frameworks, public awareness campaigns, and more robust community support for victims.

The Shravasti case joins a growing list of tragic incidents where intimate partner violence has led to brutal deaths. Authorities are urging families and communities to report signs of abuse early, before conflicts escalate into irreversible loss.
