Chennai Techie Accuses Estranged Wife and Police of Harassment

Prasanna Sankar, a tech entrepreneur and co-founder of the Singapore-based crypto platform 0xPPL.com, has made serious allegations. Sankar accused his estranged wife and the Chennai police of harassment in multiple social media posts. Sankar, is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle.

The series of posts made by the Techie

Prasanna started his series of posts by writing, “My name is Prasanna, who previously founded Rippling (worth $10B); I’m going through a divorce. I’m now on the run from the Chennai police hiding outside of Tamil Nadu. This is my story. Born in Chennai, lived here for 20 years. I studied in NIT Trichy where I met my wife. I was ranked as #1 coder in India. I went to the US to start technology companies.”
Prasanna Sankar claimed that he was being unjustly pursued by law enforcement officers while trying to secure custody of his son. He further accused the Chennai police of trying to extort him of Rs 25 lakh as they are allegedly probing a “kidnap” complaint filed by his wife, Dhivya.

Accusations of Domestic Abuse

In a series of posts on social media Sankar detailed allegations against his wife. This includes claims that she filed false complaints accusing him of domestic violence after he discovered her affair. According to Sankar, his wife then attempted to negotiate a hefty divorce settlement, leading to further legal complications.
In one such post on social media Sankar wrote, “She decided to instead file a fake police complaint against me saying I hit her. Later, she made further fake complaints that I raped her (1 mo after the alleged rape). That I circulated her nude videos. etc. Singapore police have investigated these allegations, found them baseless and have cleared me from all charges”.

The tech entrepreneur also stated that she kidnapped their nine-year-old son and took him to the United States. This prompted Sankar to file an international child abduction case against her wife. A US court later ruled in his favor, leading to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) where he agreed to pay his wife a significant amount in settlement and provide joint custody of their child.

Prasanna’s Friend Detained

He also claimed that the police detained his friend, Gokul who helped pick up the child from his estranged wife, without a warrant.
“Last 3 days he has been in custody without any FIR. They are telling him if I don’t surrender he’d be harassed. They have not produced him in front of a magistrate. Instead, every morning they call him to the station and make him sit till night and let him go. More recently, the threat is, that if I do not remove my Twitter posts – he’d be in trouble. They have told him to tell him, they will find me and make me face the consequences of going to the media,” Sankar wrote.

A Joint Press Meet

He further wrote, “Police and my wife will be conducting a joint press meet soon to accuse me of many crimes. They’ve also asked my friend Gokul to sign saying my social media tweets are false. To all supporters – to be clear. I’m feeling the most alive right now and it’s great. I built an empire from nothing. I can handle this even if a state is on the other side. I’m a survivor not a victim.”

Fleeing from Police Pursuit

Tensions escalated when Sankar alleged that his wife filed a kidnapping complaint against him. He claimed that the police attempted to arrest him without an FIR. He expressed fear of wrongful arrest and fled with his son to avoid further confrontation with the authorities.

Wife Denies Allegations

In response, Sankar’s wife, Divya, denied the allegations and accused him of evading tax and transferring matrimonial assets to his father’s name. She also claimed that Sankar stole their son’s passport and accused him of being a sexual predator. Divya further alleged that he used to “secretly record women” for which he was arrested in Singapore and later released.

Ongoing Legal Battle

As of now, there has been no official response from the Chennai Police regarding the ongoing claims. Meanwhile, Sankar’s social media posts have garnered wide attention, with over 8.6 million views.

SC Recommends Transfer of Justice Yashwant Varma Amid Cash Discovery Controversy

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Yashwant Varma of the Delhi High Court to work at the Allahabad High Court. This decision was taken after discovering unexplained cash at his home during a fire on March 14, 2025. His transfer proposal now awaits final approval from the central government after the recommendation reached the governing body from the Supreme Court Collegium. The Allahabad High Court Bar Association (HCBA) expressed their disapproval of this transfer by questioning whether the Allahabad High Court functioned as a “trash bin” for handling such issues.

Justice Verma Denied the Involvement

Justice Varma’s recommendation came after firefighters discovered cash inside the burnt storeroom of his official Delhi residence on March 14. The first responders discovered cash stacks in a storeroom storage area where burned money samples were discovered. Justice Varma together with his wife were staying in Bhopal when the event happened. Justice Varma vehemently denied associating with the money while asserting through his statement, “Neither I nor my family own the cash.” Justice Varma believes the discovery is linked to an overall scheme that seeks to damage his professional credibility.
The Supreme Court Collegium had previously discussed the transfer and issued a formal resolution on March 20, which was sent to the government on March 24. However, the Collegium did not overlook the concerns raised about the matter. In fact, some members suggested an immediate in-house inquiry into the incident, with one even recommending that Justice Varma be stripped of his judicial duties temporarily. To address the issue comprehensively, the Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, constituted a three-member committee to conduct an inquiry.

Justice Verma and his Transfers

Justice Varma, who was appointed to the Allahabad High Court in 2016, was transferred to the Delhi High Court in 2021. Before his elevation, he had served as standing counsel for the Uttar Pradesh government.

Over 65 Lakh Traffic Violations, Rs 369 Crore in Pending Fines in Mumbai: RTI Report

Over 65 Lakh Traffic Violations, Rs 369 Crore in Pending Fines in Mumbai: RTI Report
Over 65 Lakh Traffic Violations, Rs 369 Crore in Pending Fines in Mumbai: RTI Report
The Mumbai Traffic Police have taken action against over 65 lakh vehicle owners for traffic violations in just 13 months. The above data is from January 1, 2024, to February 5, 2025. According to this data the total fines imposed have amounted to a massive Rs 526 crore. However, out of this, only Rs 157 crore has been collected so far, leaving Rs 369 crore in unpaid dues. The above information was obtained through an RTI query filed by activist Anil Galgali.

44,13,450 owners yet to clear their dues

The fines were enforced by 41 traffic divisions and the multimedia department and issued across 26 different categories of violations. According to the RTI, around 20,99,396 offenders have paid their fines. But shockingly, over 44,13,450 vehicle owners are yet to clear their dues for violating traffic rules.
Furthermore, the data also reveals one particular category of violations, unauthorized flicker and amber lights, has shown poor compliance. A total of 47 vehicle owners were fined Rs 23,500 for using such lights violating the rules. However, among these 47 owners only seven individuals have paid the fine. The total contributed a mere Rs 3,500 to the collection.

Majority of Violations at Marine Drive

Meanwhile, the majority of these traffic violations were recorded at Marine Drive, one of the posh areas of Mumbai. Here, over 32 vehicle owners were penalized. Among these 32 owners only two vehicle owners have settled their fines, contributing Rs 1,000 to the total.

Need for more effective enforcement

Responding to the pending number of unpaid fines, RTI activist Anil Galgali called attention to the need for more effective enforcement. “The Mumbai Traffic Police have done a satisfactory job, but due to a shortage of officers and staff, they are unable to take action more effectively. A special recovery drive is necessary to collect the pending fines from offenders.” Issue digital notices to defaulting vehicle owners & Implement stricter measures, including vehicle seizure for major defaulters, says Galgali
The data shows a growing concern over the effectiveness of traffic rule enforcement in Mumbai. The situation calls for a more robust strategy to ensure that fines are collected and traffic laws are followed more strictly across the city.

Mounjaro launched in India

Mounjaro vs Ozempic

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
