The number of applications in the Chief Minister Mahila Employment Scheme launched to strengthen women financially and to increase self-reliance is increasing day by day. In rural areas where more than 93 lakh women have participated.
At the same time, 30 lakh women from urban areas have applied and made the scheme historic. Meanwhile, taking action on complaints of irregularity, the service of 55 livelihood personnel has been terminated.
Heavy participation of rural women
The biggest impact of the scheme is being seen in rural Bihar. The women of the village are seeing this scheme as a new opportunity. Applying 93 lakh women by Friday evening proves how deep the desire for employment and self-reliance is.
Women, considered limited to farm-barn and domestic work, are now dreaming of changing their economic conditions through schemes.
Activity of urban women
Urban women have also taken up the scheme in comparison to rural areas. So far, 30 lakh women have submitted applications through the portal. However, the process of application in urban areas has been kept separate. Here women have to fill the online form completely. The application is valid only after uploading the name, address, age, family details and other necessary information on the portal.
The age limit of 18 to 60 years has been set for the benefit of this scheme in urban areas. Apart from this, the applicator’s husband should not be government or contract workers. If the husband is an income tax payer, the woman will not be considered eligible for this scheme. The purpose of this condition is to ensure that only the benefits reach those who really need it.
Strictness on irregularities
Amidst such a large number of applications, it was also revealed that some livelihood personnel tried to make a mess. Acting on these, 55 personnel across the state were dismissed. Jeevika CEO Himanshu Sharma clearly said that the entire process of the scheme will be transparent and those who make any kind of disturbances will not be spared. He also appealed to women and common people to complain immediately if there was an irregularity.
Portal launch and technical facilities
The official portal was launched on Wednesday with the aim of simplifying the application for urban women. A link to this scheme is available on Jeevika’s website. As the number of applications is increasing, this portal has also become the center of women’s convenience.
Through digital medium, women are now able to participate in this scheme sitting at their home, due to which they are getting rid of the offices.
Hope of self -sufficiency in women
The financial support from the scheme will not only increase the livelihood of women, but will also strengthen their status in the society. From village to city, women are now feeling that they also have a chance to stand on their own.
Getting employment opportunities will improve their standard of living and the financial condition of the family will also be better.
