A 39-year-old man, identified as Vijay Kumar, was allegedly murdered in Bengaluru’s Machohalli area. The murder was carried out by his childhood friend, Dhananjaya alias Jay. This comes after a suspected affair involving Vijay’s wife, Asha. Police believe the murder stemmed from a love triangle that turned deadly.

Decades-Long Friendship Ends in Murder

According to reports, Vijay and Dhananjaya had shared a close friendship for over 30 years. Both grew up together in Magadi before relocating to Sunkadakatte, Bengaluru. Vijay, a real estate and finance professional, married Asha around a decade ago. Following the marriage the couple had been residing in Kamakshipalya.

According to investigators, Vijay recently uncovered an affair between Asha and Dhananjaya. He is said to have caught them in a compromising situation. He also found photographs that confirmed the alleged relationship. Attempting to save the marriage, Vijay moved with Asha to a rented house in Machohalli near Kadabagere. Despite this effort, the affair reportedly continued.

Affair Discovered, Marriage Strained

On the day of the murder, Vijay remained at home until the evening before stepping out. He was later found dead in the DGroup Layout area of Machohalli. The circumstances and location of the crime have led police to suspect a premeditated act involving both Asha and Dhananjaya.

The Madanayakanahalli Police have since detained Asha for questioning and launched a manhunt for Dhananjaya, who has gone missing since the incident. Investigators suspect a conspiracy between the two to eliminate Vijay.

Similar case reported

In a separate case from June this year, another murder shocked the outskirts of Bengaluru. A 28-year-old man named Shankar was arrested after allegedly beheading his wife over suspicions of infidelity and surrendering to the police with her severed head. That case, too, highlighted growing concerns around marital violence and the consequences of unaddressed domestic conflict.

Authorities in both cases have emphasized the need for timely intervention in troubled marriages and the dangers of letting suspicions escalate into deadly confrontations.
