‘Ambedkar Still Guides India’: Tripura Minister On 135th Birth Anniversary

On April 14, 2023, the SC Welfare Minister of Tripura, Sudhangshu Das, commemorated the 135th birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. The event was organised by the ST Welfare Department of the state government as a tribute to Dr Ambedkar’s enduring legacy. Minister Das addressed the significance of this occasion, highlighting the importance of honouring Dr Ambedkar for his contributions to Indian society.

During his address, Das stated that Dr Ambedkar serves as a source of inspiration for all Indians. He emphasised that the birth anniversary is not merely a celebration but a moment to reflect on the values and principles that Dr Ambedkar stood for, particularly in the realms of social justice and welfare.

Significance of Dr Ambedkar’s Contributions

The minister elaborated that Dr Ambedkar is esteemed not only for drafting the Constitution but also as a pivotal figure in promoting social justice throughout the country. Celebrations at Mhow, Indore

Meanwhile, significant celebrations are also planned at Dr Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow, Indore, where a grand gathering is expected to take place. Chief Minister Yadav, along with various dignitaries, will be in attendance for the commemorative event. The festivities are anticipated to be characterised by deep devotion and enthusiasm as locals and visitors pay their respects to Dr Ambedkar.

Reports indicate that a considerable number of attendees will arrive from across Madhya Pradesh and other states, with the influx beginning the evening of April 12. Organisers have made thorough arrangements to manage the event efficiently. The area for the gathering has been divided into seven sectors, each overseen by teams comprising officials from various departments.

To ensure that the event runs smoothly, three control rooms have been established at the Tehsil premises. With these measures in place, the organisers aim to facilitate a respectful and harmonious observance of Dr Ambedkar’s legacy on this important day.
