Ukrainian President Zelenskyy claims Russia is Providing Intelligence Support to Iran

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on March 24 that Ukraine possesses evidence suggesting that Russia is supplying intelligence assistance to Iran during its ongoing conflict. Zelenskyy described this aid as vital for Iran’s military efforts and a factor that extends the duration of the war.

He articulated concerns regarding the destabilizing consequences of such support. “There is growing evidence that the Russians are continuing to provide the Iranian regime with intelligence support,” he stated. Zelenskyy emphasized that this action presents a destructive threat to regional stability and should be halted immediately. He called for collective international efforts to enhance security and avert a broader crisis, noting that markets have begun to react negatively to the situation, exacerbating fuel challenges in numerous countries.

Russian Minister Discusses Regional Tensions

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov engaged in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi. According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they discussed the worsening circumstances in the Persian Gulf, attributing the unrest to what they describe as U.S.-Israeli aggression. Lavrov and Araghchi expressed serious concerns regarding the potential escalation of conflict into the Caspian region.

Lavrov Highlights Risks of Military Actions

In the conversation, Lavrov underscored the unacceptability of U.S. and Israeli strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, notably the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He indicated that such attacks pose significant safety risks to Russian personnel and could have dire environmental repercussions across the entire region. This statement reflects ongoing tensions surrounding military actions directed at Iranian infrastructure amidst rising geopolitical strife.

Israeli Prime Minister Affirms Continued Military Actions

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also made remarks on March 23, stating that he had recently spoken to U.S. President Donald Trump. Netanyahu asserted that they would pursue their military objectives through agreements that align with their national interests. He reinforced Israel’s commitment to ongoing military operations in both Iran and Lebanon. “We will continue to strike Iran and Lebanon,” Netanyahu stated, reiterating the resolve to dismantle Iran’s missile program and maintain pressure on its regional activities.
