Suzuki Access Variant Introduced with Enhanced Safety Feature

Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced a new variant of its popular scooter, the Suzuki Access, now equipped with a single-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). This latest update is designed to enhance braking performance and rider safety, especially during daily commutes. The starting ex-showroom price for the new Access ABS model is ₹92,328.

Focus on Improved Braking and Rider Safety

The addition of the ABS feature marks a significant upgrade in terms of safety. The single-channel ABS system is engineered to prevent wheel lock-up during sudden or hard braking, offering greater stability and control, particularly on slippery or uneven road surfaces. This update aims to provide riders with more confidence during deceleration and emergency braking situations.

The braking system has been integrated without major changes to the scooter’s overall design or performance, ensuring that it retains its existing appeal while offering improved riding dynamics. The Access continues to target urban commuters, and this safety enhancement aligns with growing awareness and demand for better safety standards in two-wheelers.

No Changes in Engine and Performance Specifications

The mechanical setup of the new Suzuki Access ABS remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers a peak power output of 8.6 bhp and 10 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission, offering a smooth and efficient ride for city use.

The scooter also continues to feature Suzuki’s Eco Performance (SEP) technology, which is aimed at delivering a fine balance between fuel efficiency and performance. Features such as the LED headlamp, digital-analogue instrument cluster, combined brake system (CBS), and external fuel fill remain consistent across variants.

Positioned as a Practical Commuter Scooter

Suzuki Access has been one of the brand’s best-selling models in the Indian two-wheeler market, primarily due to its practicality, ease of use, and consistent performance. With the inclusion of the ABS feature, Suzuki intends to strengthen the model’s position in the 125cc scooter segment by offering an added layer of safety without compromising on other features.

The company continues to offer multiple variants of the Suzuki Access, including models with alloy wheels, drum or disc brakes, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Access ABS variant is positioned as a step up in safety, expected to cater to riders seeking an affordable scooter with standardised modern safety technology.

Dealerships across India have begun accepting bookings for the new Access ABS, and deliveries are expected to start shortly. The scooter is available in a range of colour options and continues to feature the classic styling that has made the Access one of the most popular scooters in its segment.
