Rajpal Yadav Vows to Visit Gurukul Children Who Sent Support Funds

The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Rajpal Yadav expressed his intention to meet students from a Gurukul in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, who had sent him money from their personal savings in a display of solidarity.

In a conversation with a news agency, Yadav, 54, explained that his recent trip to his hometown was filled with various commitments, preventing him from connecting with the children sooner. His comments follow a video from the students requesting a visit from the actor, who was recently released from jail.

Support from Students During Difficult Times

While Yadav was incarcerated, the Gurukul children pooled together their pocket money and mailed it to his family home in Kundra on February 21, along with a letter expressing their desire to meet him after his release.

Yadav described his recent return home, mentioning that he had not yet had the opportunity to spend quality time with his family and was in the process of gathering more information about those who reached out to assist him during his time in jail.

Clarification on Children’s Background

In response to inquiries regarding the children, Yadav initially assumed they were from an orphanage. However, upon learning they were students of a Gurukul, he elaborated, stating, “I believe in the guru tradition, and all those children are my own.” He assured that he would make it a priority to meet them, expressing his intention to embrace them and capture the moment with photographs.

Children’s Message in the Video

The students had shared a 29-second video greeting Yadav and congratulating him on his release. They expressed their desire to know whether he had received their financial support and conveyed disappointment over his lack of response to their letter. The children conveyed their eagerness to meet him, remarking that even a conversation would have sufficed in lieu of an in-person meeting.

Contribution from Gurukul Students

Kumar Sagar, chairman of the Gurukul Seva Trust, informed that nearly 40 students contributed their savings for this gesture. Prior to sending their money, the Gurukul added a small additional amount to the total amount as a goodwill gesture.

This initiative took place during Yadav’s legal troubles regarding a 2010 loan of Rs 5 crore from Murli Projects Private Limited, which he defaulted on, leading to his imprisonment earlier this month. The children decided to send their accumulated savings as encouragement during Yadav’s challenging time.

Rajpal Yadav’s Background

Rajpal Yadav is noted for his comedic roles in Hindi cinema and hails from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His popularity in films has made him a well-known figure in the industry. Despite facing legal challenges recently, Yadav’s connection with his audience, particularly the children from the Gurukul, demonstrates the impact he has on young fans who look up to him as a source of inspiration.
