OnePlus has introduced two new smartphones, the OnePlus Turbo 6X and the Turbo 6X Pro, in China, thereby expanding its Turbo lineup. These devices emphasise battery longevity, high-refresh-rate displays, and enhanced durability.

The OnePlus Turbo 6X is primarily aimed at users seeking a large battery and options for expandable storage at a relatively modest price point. In contrast, the Turbo 6X Pro boasts a brighter AMOLED display, a larger battery, improved durability specifications, and additional AI-driven features.

Currently, there is no official information regarding the global availability of these devices. However, previous models in the Turbo series have been made available in international markets, particularly in India under the Nord branding, making a global launch a possibility.

Specifications and Features

The OnePlus Turbo 6X is equipped with a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display, supporting a refresh rate of 144Hz and achieving a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits. This display incorporates hardware-level DC dimming and is operational even with wet hands, oily fingers, or gloves.

The Turbo 6X Pro, on the other hand, features a more advanced 6.78-inch 1.5K Samsung AMOLED display. This panel not only supports a 144Hz refresh rate but also achieves a higher peak brightness of 6,500 nits. It further includes full-brightness DC dimming and eye-protection technologies developed with display specialists.

Both models are powered by MediaTek chipsets, with the Turbo 6X utilising the Dimensity 7360 SUPER chipset built on a 4nm process, while the Turbo 6X Pro utilises the more potent Dimensity 7400 SUPER processor, also built on 4nm architecture. Both smartphones run on ColorOS 16 and are claimed to deliver up to six years of seamless performance.

Camera and Battery Features

In terms of camera capabilities, the Turbo 6X features a dual-camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The Turbo 6X Pro enhances this setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor featuring Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. It also includes a higher-resolution 16-megapixel front camera and supports various photography features, including Live Photos and Soft Light Portrait mode.

Battery life stands out as a significant attribute for both devices. The OnePlus Turbo 6X is equipped with a 7,000mAh battery capable of 45W fast charging, as well as wired reverse charging. In contrast, the Turbo 6X Pro houses an even larger 8,000mAh battery, supporting 80W charging. OnePlus claims that the Pro model can facilitate up to 29 hours of short video playback or 8 hours of uninterrupted gaming on a single charge.

For durability and security, the Turbo 6X carries an IP64 rating and features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Turbo 6X Pro offers enhanced protection with multiple ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, in addition to various military-grade certifications. It includes an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Pricing and Colour Options

The OnePlus Turbo 6X is available in several configurations, with the base model featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at 1,899 yuan (approximately Rs 26,700). The versions with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage cost 1,999 yuan (around Rs 28,100), while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at 2,299 yuan (roughly Rs 32,300).

The Turbo 6X Pro starts at 1,999 yuan (approximately Rs 28,100) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The 8GB and 256GB variant is priced at 2,099 yuan (around Rs 29,500), with the top-tier 12GB RAM and 256GB model selling for 2,399 yuan (approximately Rs 33,700).

The OnePlus Turbo 6X comes in White, Green Cloud, and Starry Black. The Turbo 6X Pro is available in Heartbeat Orange and Prancing Horse Black. At this time, OnePlus has not announced any plans for a global launch, including in the Indian market.
