On Monday evening, a quarrel ensued among family members around 7 pm, triggered by discussions revolving around money and Abhishek’s alleged drug use. It was reported that he had consumed alcohol prior to the altercation, which contributed to the intensity of the dispute.

Family members intervened to diffuse the situation, thus separating the father and son temporarily. Following this intervention, the father left the household, and later returned between 11 pm and 11.30 pm. Unaware of his father’s return, Abhishek was asleep when the fatal attack occurred. The assault reportedly involved multiple blows to Abhishek’s head with a brick, ultimately leading to severe injuries.

Upon realising what had taken place, Abhishek’s mother raised an alarm, prompting other family members to take immediate action. They hurriedly transported him to a local community health centre for urgent medical assistance. Due to the severity of his condition, medical professionals referred him to a private hospital in Kanpur, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Police Investigation and Response

Local police officials, led by Officer Saurabh Kumar Verma, confirmed that the body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem examination following the completion of inquest proceedings. The police are in the process of registering a case based on the family’s complaint, and they have formed specialised teams to locate and arrest the father, who reportedly fled the scene after the incident.
